John Cena defined multiple eras in the WWE, and there’s a reason why he’s a household name. From memes to kayfabe accomplishments to real-life good deeds, here are five reasons why John Cena is the Greatest Of All Time.<\/p>\n

5. Accomplishments<\/h2>\n

At 17 World Championships, John Cena stands head and shoulders above everyone else. However, Cena is also a two-time Royal Rumble winner, something only a few others can say they have done. He won the match in 2008 and in 2013.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he is a five-time United States Champion, which is something many people associate with him. The United States Championship was his first singles title in WWE, and he would issue weekly open challenges for the title in 2015. Finally, he is also a four-time tag team champion and the 2012 Money in the Bank winner.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Cena won the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio, making him a Grand Slam Champion.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 John Cena’s Selflessness<\/h2>\n

Both wrestlers and fans have noted John Cena’s selflessness throughout the years. Many fans talk highly of him, and many wrestlers tell stories of kind things he did for them or advice he gave. Infamously, in 2012, Cena faked a bathroom break to give Brodus Clay his moment at WrestleMania 28.<\/p>\n

The show was running behind, and Vince McMahon was about to cut his six-minute window given for his segment. Until Cena told officials he needed about ten minutes to use the restroom. This gave Clay the time required to have his segment, and Clay stated he will always have a favorable opinion of him because of this act.<\/p>\n

Clay recounted the interaction with his interview with Chris Van Vliet in 2022. This story is just one of many about Cena.<\/p>\n

3. Longevity<\/h2>\n

John Cena has had an incredibly long run. Starting in 2001, he started in WWE’s developmental, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Cena infamously debuted on the main roster in 2002, interrupting Kurt Angle<\/a>. He worked tirelessly for over fifteen years until finally shifting into a part-time schedule in 2018.<\/p>\n

His part-time status came as a result of age and his acting career. With his final match set for December 13th, 2025, Cena’s active in-ring career would have lasted 24 years.<\/p>\n

2. Charitable Work<\/h2>\n

Charity has always been a big part of John Cena’s character. He works primarily with children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. These children have life-threatening illnesses, and the organization works with public figures to de-stress from their everyday lives. Cena even holds the Guinness World Record for granting over 650 of these wishes.<\/p>\n

He is also a proud supporter of veterans and previously worked with the FitOps Foundation, which helps them with fitness and careers after the military. Cena also donated over $500,000 for California wildfire assistance and has been vocal in anti-bullying and cancer awareness campaigns.<\/p>\n

Cena’s longevity, charity work, selflessness, and accomplishments all contribute to his impact. He helped keep the WWE afloat in their most dire eras by appealing to all audiences, young and old. Cena has been a vital figure in bringing professional wrestling back to the mainstream. If you ask anyone on the street, they may not watch wrestling, but they know John Cena.<\/p>\n
