Considering how several of Saturday’s key matches follow up on the events of Dynamite, there’s the chance for more big story beats and build.

The graphic is now official for the men’s Blood and Guts match, yet there’s still no explicit confirmation, teams, or recent build for the women’s match. Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, and Kommander will take on La Facion Ingobernable in trios action. With two of the face team’s members in action, will the Death Riders take the opportunity to inflict some damage ahead of November 12th?

Can They Co-Exist, Again?

In men’s and women’s tag action, two contrasting tag matches will test the adaptability, patience, and egos of the three teams involved.

In the women’s division, Penelope Ford’s injury means Megan Bayne was partnerless for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament. Stepping into Ford’s place is perhaps a more dangerous partner in terms of size, presence, and capability, Marina Sharif. The look on Jon Moxley’s face on Dynamite said it all. This pairing could be dominant, despite their inexperience as a team. We’ll see Saturday night how well they gel.

Elsewhere, Tony Khan continues to infuriate Anthony Bowens by making him again team with Max Caster. The former AEW World Tag Team and Trios champions have generated a mini-winning streak since they were forced back together. However, going against a team that also hate each other sincerely, Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita, could an upset be on the cards?

Don Callis continues to paper over the cracks by forcing cohesion between two alphas who clearly do not want to co-exist with each other. Although Okada and Takeshita collectively have burned down barns, sooner or later, one of them will burn the other to the ground.

AEW vs. CMLL Action

In world championship action, two members of the AEW roster defend their CMLL and ROH championships, respectively, against two of CMLL’s best.

Last week on Collision, Olympia made a statement by dispatching Taya Valkyrie. The bodybuilder’s strength and power were too much for Valkyrie. The daughter of Valiente might make the CEO bump like a rag doll.

Interestingly, with this defence, Mone is well on her way to defending the CMLL Women’s World Championship more than her recent predecessors. Also, with Kris Statlander watching on, are the two champions going to brawl again?

Bandido defends his ROH World Championship in a rematch against Mascara Dorada. Their first match for the championship was at ROH x CMLL Global Wars Mexico 2025. The full match is available on YouTube here. It was more than a nineteen-minute showcase highlighting Bandido’s case for being wrestler of the year. Like Mascara Dorada’s performance at All Out, it’s clear the 23-year-old is on the path to becoming a future great.

There is a high ceiling on this rematch. AEW has never been a promotion to tell wrestlers to slow down. Expect the spectacular and possible match of the week contender.

AEW Collision Fright Night Matches Announced

Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in action

CMLL World Women’s Championship: Mercedes Mone vs. Olympia

Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, Kommander vs. La Facion Ingobernable

Max Caster and Anthony Bowens vs. Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita

ROH World Championship: Bandido vs. Mascara Dorada 2

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the AEW Collision Fright Night Preview and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop. You can always count on LWOPW to be on top of the major news in the wrestling world.
