During the event, the final match of a fierce rivalry will take place. Dominik Mysterio will fight Penta and Rusev in a triple threat match defending his Intercontinental Championship. The match was set up on the October 27, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw. A number one contender’s match was set up between the latter two men.

During the match, Los Americanos came and attacked both of them, forcing the match into a disqualification. Afterwards, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce caught Mysterio talking with the three men. He then made the triple threat match official. Mysterio will have to defend his title against both Penta and Rusev, making his road to retaining harder. However, given the nature of the match, Pearce might’ve made a big mistake.

Mysterio Can Use the Match Type to His Advantage

Mysterio’s run with the Intercontinental Championship has no doubt been impressive. However, things haven’t exactly been clean during this time. Several matches have ended with Mysterio cheating in various ways in order to retain the title. A triple threat match is a no-disqualification match, which benefits him. He can make Penta and Rusev defenseless by tying their hands behind their back with a rope. Using handcuffs to link them together could lead to a fast ending.

There’s no limit to what Mysterio can do, although what he will do remains to be seen. His whole run has involved cheating, and now Pearce is rewarding that cheating. A triple threat match will surely end with a Mysterio retention unless Penta and Rusev can out-think him in trickery. Pearce just made his road to keeping his Intercontinental Championship much easier by making the match a triple threat match.

Los Americanos Can Do Whatever They Want

There are a lot of ways that this match can end quickly, just by factoring in Mysterio’s tricks. But the past couple of weeks have made him stronger. He has allied with El Grande Americano, who predictably interfered with the match on Raw. Not only that, Bravo and Rayo Americano have shown up and wreaked havoc as well. Mysterio was lying to Pearce about them attacking on their own. There’s no way that he didn’t know they were going to attack Penta and Rusev. The match is essentially four versus one versus one.

A triple threat match allows Los Americanos to handicap Penta and Rusev in a major way. Usually, that would be unfair, but anything goes in a no-disqualification match. Instead of barring them from ringside, Pearce has just invited more chaos into the match on Saturday.

Has Pearce Made a Huge Mistake?

Usually, there wouldn’t be any worry surrounding a triple threat match. The wrestlers would do whatever they wanted to their opponents, and everything would be legal. It’s a great way to cap off a feud between multiple people. But Mysterio isn’t just a normal, ordinary wrestler. He loves to cheat his way into victories, meaning his retentions aren’t entirely legitimate.

Pearce knows how Mysterio is, but he made the triple threat match anyway. A no-disqualification match with a known cheater is asking for trouble. There’s no length he will go to in order to win. Several different things can happen that can lead to retention within minutes. Add in Los Americanos to the mix, and it’s clear Penta and Rusev are both outnumbered and outmatched. Pearce might’ve thought he handicapped Mysterio, but triple threat rules could lead him to an easy victory.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) XLI and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
