For several months, CM Punk has expressed his desire to become champion again. Unfortunately for CM Punk, there was always interference from The Vision in his way. Punk was set to face Seth Rollins, but now he’ll face the new number one contender, Jey Uso.

With Seth Rollins facing a shoulder injury, both contenders will compete against each other for the vacant championship. Due to Seth Rollins’ The Vision imploding, nothing should be won Punk’s way in reclaiming his lost gold. In terms of who should win the vacant gold, it should be Punk.

Why CM Punk Should Win the Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title

CM Punk would benefit more from winning the World Title once again, as he is currently RAW’s top babyface. Although Jey Uso is also RAW’s top star, he is already in a storyline with Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns. Friction is slowly building between The Usos as Jey’s ego is growing week by week. Jey’s boosted ego could cost him his upcoming match with CM Punk.

With the possible win CM Punk might pick up, it can create and rebuild past stories instead of his long rivalry with The Vision. Being the top babyface, CM Punk’s potential run as champion could bring more fans to watch Monday Night RAW, as he is already a huge draw. With Punk’s rival and then champion, Seth Rollins, out for the foreseeable future, now is the perfect time for WWE to give Punk a championship run once again.

Possible Challengers for CM Punk

If CM Punk does become champion again, it can initiate matches with wrestlers such as LA Knight. LA Knight would be a great challenger for CM Punk since it was Punk who wanted Knight to win the Number One Contender Battle Royal in the first place. Not only is there a small mutual respect between the two veterans, but there’s also some unfinished business as both want to be the World Heavyweight Champion.

What might be in their way is Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, who put their leader, Seth Rollins, out of action in the first place. Since Breakker and Reed’s pairing, they have proved they are a dominant force. With Paul Heyman also by their side, they might insert themselves as challengers for CM Punk.

Another challenger for CM Punk is Gunther. When CM Punk won the World Title at SummerSlam, it was Gunther he had to defeat for the championship. Gunther might have a vendetta for CM Punk, as their last matchup marked Gunther’s previous appearance. That match saw CM Punk make Gunther bleed, which is extremely rare for Gunther; thus, it might trigger Gunther a whole lot more whenever he makes his return to WWE television.

Do you think CM Punk should win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship?
