It is an event where history is made, such as upset victories, memorable debuts, and impactful returns. In most of these events, fans recognize the wrestlers who pull the most formidable performances at the show. Here are some names who are considered the greatest performers of WWE’s most interesting PLE.

The Undertaker

Known for his remarkable undefeated streak at WrestleMania, Survivor Series is also The Undertaker’s domain. When The Undertaker debuted in 1990, it was clear he would become a star. The Undertaker had standout matches at the PLE, including Buried Alive, First Blood, Hell in a Cell, and Casket matches. Not only did he start his career in WWE there, but it was also where he ended it.

Survivor Series holds deep meaning for The Undertaker, as it’s where he won his first WWE Championship. If there’s something that The Undertaker brings in to create captivating moments, it’s involving Caskets. He competed in Casket matches against much bigger men, such as Yokuzuna and Big Show. Even Chuck Norris was part of Undertaker’s casket match with Yokozuna. Wrestling fans can’t forget that The Undertaker once made his return coming out of a flaming Casket as well.

Other Undertaker matches, including the Buried Alive and First Blood, have unique statistics. His 2003 Buried Alive Match with Mr. McMahon marked his final run as the “American Badass” until 2020. Undertaker’s First Blood match with Mr. Kennedy in 2006 was the only one in his career.

Photo Credit: By Vishal Somaiya – originally posted to Flickr as The Undertaker Wins!, CC BY-SA 2.0,

John Cena

John Cena is someone who is such a remarkable talent at Survivor Series. Cena made an instant impact at Survivor Series, becoming a survivor two years straight. Cena went seven years undefeated at the event, facing stars like Kurt Angle, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels. One of Cena’s biggest Survivor Series moments was teaming with The Rock in 2011 and leading his team against The Authority in 2014.

Randy Orton

When it comes to Survivor Series, Randy Orton is known for his performances in the Survivor Series Elimination matches. For three years in a row, Orton was the sole survivor of his team. In addition to that, he would go on to survive once again with other partners throughout the years. The most highlighted moment has to be when Orton made his return in WWE back at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.

This was Orton’s greatest return yet, coming after more than a year away due to a career-threatening back injury. The moment felt even bigger as WWE had Orton interrupt Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank cash-in during WarGames. Orton also delivered a stunning RKO, catching JD McDonagh midair.

Shawn Michaels

Like Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels is regarded as one of Survivor Series’ greatest performers. Michaels has never failed to steal the show. His performance in traditional elimination matches is one that wrestling fans forever acknowledge. Even as his team’s last man standing, he thrilled fans by eliminating opponents and nearly turning the tide.

His most unarguably biggest moment has to be when he made his triumphant wrestling comeback. Much like Orton again, Michaels’ comeback was miraculous after a severe back injury. Michaels’ return match was beyond crucial as he took part in WWE’s first-ever Elimination Chamber Match. Michaels’ comeback was heartwarming, proving he could still win and perform at a high level.

Roman Reigns

In comparison to The Undertaker, Roman Reigns also made his debut at Survivor Series. Reigns’ Survivor Series debut ranks among WWE’s best, marking the rise of The Shield. A year later, he shocked fans again in traditional elimination matches. He eliminated 80% of the team, and he became the sole survivor in his Survivor Series debut match. Alongside debuting at Survivor Series, he won the WWE title for the first time, much like Undertaker did.

Reigns’ outstanding performances at his first Survivor Series were still not enough. A decade later, he entered his first WarGames match with The Bloodline, winning both times.

Who do you believe are the greatest performers at Survivor Series?
