Mercedes Mone has added yet another championship to her collection. On October 10th, she defeated Alyss Ink for the BODYSLAM Women’s Championship. The event took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mercedes now represents eight different promotions from all around the world. Not only highlighting women’s wrestling in America, but worldwide.<\/p>\n

Mercedes Mone: Set to Break Records<\/h2>\n

With the BODYSLAM Women’s Championship, Mercedes Mone has now met Ultimo Dragon’s record of holding ten belts collectively. Mone has made it clear she intends to break this record. Later this month, she is set to take on TNA Knockout Jody Threat for the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship. If Mone can win, she’ll officially beat Dragon’s record.<\/p>\n

Jade Cargill holds the record for most defenses of the TBS Championship at 26 defenses, but Mercedes Mone is creeping up on this, too, at 23 defenses. Additionally, Mone is on track to become the longest-reigning AEW TBS Champion of all time. Cargill also holds this record at 508 days, but Mone is only a mere 5 days away from breaking that<\/p>\n

record, too. Becoming the longest reigning TBS Champion is not only a milestone for Mone, but personal for fans. Throughout her WWE career, Mone (then known as Sasha Banks) never held a title for longer than 200 days. The closest she got was her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship reign, where she had the belt for 167 days.<\/p>\n

This fact is even more apparent when looking at her Raw Women’s Championship reigns. Although she was a 5-time champion, she never held the belt for more than 35 days.<\/p>\n

Adding on to this, Mone never held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships for more than 100 days, despite being one of the inaugural champions. Suffice to say, fans have been waiting years for Mone to have a truly long, meaningful championship reign. Holding nine other belts is just icing on the cake for the ‘Mone Krew.’<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mone ended Ink’s reign at 1,140 days, the longest in its short history. The title was introduced in 2022, with its first holder being Emersyn Jayne. Ink would defeat Jayne in August of 2022, before ultimately falling to Mone just yesterday. Mone is only the third title holder.<\/p>\n

What’s Next for Ultimo Mone?<\/h2>\n

Mone has two championship matches this month. As mentioned above, Mone will challenge Jody Threat later this month for the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship. However, Mone is set to defend her CMLL Women’s Championship on October 17th against Persephone.<\/p>\n

Mone has also expressed interest in returning to Japan. Notably, out of every country that Mone currently represents, she has yet to regain a championship from Japan. She suffered defeat to AZM earlier this year when she defended the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship, and lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani in April of 2023.<\/p>\n

She said on Instagram Live, “I miss Japan. I really, really, want to go back to Japan. I’m definitely hoping for WrestleKingdom 20.”<\/p>\n

WrestleKingdom is notably going to be Hiroshi Tanahashi’s in-ring retirement, and has already sold over 20,000 tickets. The show doesn’t take place until January 4th, 2026.<\/p>\n

Currently, it’s unknown if Mercedes will defend her TBS Championship at AEW’s upcoming WrestleDream, but she obviously has a lot to keep her busy in the meantime. Either way, Mercedes Mone has cemented herself as one of the best, while also uplifting and spotlighting other women and companies.<\/p>\n
