TNA won the Tag Team titles bout and the NXT vs TNA Men’s match. NXT retained the NXT North American Championship and won the NXT vs TNA Women’s match. Storyline-wise, there was enough to feel a bit frustrated.

We could expect betrayals; there were none. History was meant to be made, and it was. As we are now a few days away from TNA Bound For Glory, in which many NXT talents will compete, NXT Showdown leaves the fans with a lot of question marks. Is the war between NXT and TNA over? Can we expect more surprises as TNA Bound For Glory is just four days away?

Courtesy of WWE

The Hardys Made History, Once Again

Matt and Jeff Hardy did something incredible. Team 3D, Bully Ray and D-Von, were there, front row, to witness the first time TNA Wrestlers have captured an NXT Championship.

At 51 and 48, Matt and Jeff Hardy gave a lesson to DarkState. A lesson of resilience, passion, and most importantly, wrestling. The Hardys are now the NXT and TNA Tag Team Champions. For the old-time fans like me, it was a true feel-good moment. More than becoming double Champions, the Hardys’ legacy earned the right to make history again and be the first TNA talents to win an NXT Championship.

Now, at Bound For Glory, things should be a bit more complicated. Team 3D vs The Hardys “One Last Time” is a Tables Match for the TNA Tag Team Championship, which means DarkState could interfere in the match without consequences. Also, as the Hardys are double Champions, Team 3D could up the ante and ask for the two Championships to be on the line.

The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz.@ThisIsTNA Bound For Glory just got a little more interesting… 👀 pic.twitter.com/mq0DnOW0sH

— WWE (@WWE) October 8, 2025

Mustafa Ali’s Ego Was Not as Big as Ethan Page’s

Mustafa Ali returned to NXT to challenge for Ethan Page’s North American Championship, but he too fell to All Ego. That opening allowed Page to hit a Twisted Grin to retain his title.

It makes sense that a rematch has to be set, but not at Bound For Glory, as Ali and his faction Order 4 are involved in a Hardcore War with the System. Once again, the stipulation opens the door for Ethan Page to come and screw Ali again.

So, what would be the best moment for a rematch? NXT Halloween Havoc on October 25? Maybe a TNA event would be better. Team TNA conquered Team NXT after TNA World Champion Trick Williams walked out on Team NXT.

On the Women’s match side, Team NXT was not as united as expected. Jacy Jayne and Lola Vice argued. When Sol Ruca was about to eliminate the TNA Knockouts Champion, NXT’s Kelani Jordan, Jayne tagged herself in to score the final elimination, awarding the victory to Team NXT. Jordynne Grace did the perfect job, as she was asked by NXT General Manager Ava.

On the Men’s match side, TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams let his team down after Myles Borne and Je’Von Evans were eliminated. Ricky Saints was alone against the whole TNA team. A few days before Bound For Glory, Je’Von was eliminated by his opponent, TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. When it comes to Trick Williams, he seems now more focused on the NXT title than the TNA. The TNA World Championship should be coming back home on Sunday.

Sometimes you just gotta let them fight, @JordynneGrace… 😅

Team NXT and Team @ThisIsTNA are putting EVERYTHING on the line at NXT Showdown!!! pic.twitter.com/eRf3JyiTRl

— WWE (@WWE) October 8, 2025

Teams TNA

The TNA Knockouts were not successful when the TNA guys made a statement. The winner will face Jacy Jayne at NXT Halloween Havoc on October 25.

Nygma says: So, everything is for the best in the best of all possible worlds? I’m not ready to swallow this one.
