Six matches have been announced for this special Homecoming edition from AEW’s home, Jacksonville, Florida.

Kota Ibushi returns to take on Josh Alexander. Ibushi will seek retribution on behalf of his Golden Lovers tag team partner, Kenny Omega, after The Don Callis Family again targeted and took the Best Bout Machine out of action. Ibushi’s form this year has been reflective of the man’s legendary status. This could be a fluid and intoxicating match against the always sharp and ready Josh Alexander.

Elsewhere, Eddie Kingston takes on The Beast Mortos. After dealing with Drastlico, it seems the potential clash I predicted last week between The Mad King and Rush’s unstable brutality is imminent. Unlike Drastlico, Kingston is going to find Mortos a dynamic heavyweight, capable of taking Kingston’s strong-style-inspired punishment with zeal. Let the bulls fight!

Once again, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens find themselves reluctantly teaming. Answering the challenge of Big Bill and Bryan Keith, will the former Acclaimed teammates find some more common ground? Or will Bowens finally explode?

The women also share half of the card this week. Let’s look more closely at the two big trios matches.

Saturday night’s alright for fighting.

Mixed Trios Action

FTR’s list of enemies remains long, but it got slightly longer after piledriving Beth Copeland at All Out. When Willow Nightingale, following Copeland’s example, stood up to bullying men like them several Dynamite’s ago, I wondered if Nightingale would get her hands once again on Big Stoke in trios action. Instead, FTR gained a female equaliser on the previous Collision. Megan Bayne attacked Nightingale after Dax Harwood defeated Kevin Knight.

Removing the potential comedy for a straight-up vicious fight will test Nightingale. Megan Bayne has only been pinned by “Timeless” Toni Storm and her very big package. Although Nightingale has been able to match the Greek Goddess’s power before, with FTR as Bayne’s partners, this isn’t going to be a fair fight.

FTR defeated JetSpeed in the AEW World Tag Team Eliminator tournament with some crutch manoeuvring. The duo of Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey is an underdog. Yet, in Daily’s Place, with the crowd behind them, the faces could steal it.

Women’s Trios Action

A trio of witches takes on three of AEW’s “most sapphic-driven b*tches.” Disrupting the face-to-face (floor-to-floor) meeting of new AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, with the former world champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, The Triangle of Madness had a point to prove for Thekla. The Toxic Spider was not beaten by either woman at All Out. The Austrian native is not done with either woman.

Joining Statlander and Storm is another queen of innuendo, Harley Cameron. The character work in this match will be off-the-charts, with more breadcrumbs and build to WrestleDream and perhaps Blood and Guts. Don’t sleep on the action, as the unit of Skye Blue, Julia Hart, and Thekla are going to give the face team a difficult night. Could Thekla somehow insert herself into the AEW Women’s Championship match at WrestleDream?

AEW Collision Homecoming Matches Announced

TayJay in action

Max Caster and Anthony Bowens vs. Big Bill and Bryan Keith

Kota Ibushi vs. Josh Alexander

Eddie Kingston vs. The Beast Mortos

Mixed trios: FTR and Megan Bayne vs. JetSpeed and Willow Nightingale

Kris Statlander, “Timeless” Toni Storm and Harley Cameron vs. Triangle of Madness

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the AEW Collision preview and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop. You can always count on LWOPW to be on top of the major news in the wrestling world.
