AEW All Out 2025 brought about the onscreen reunion between Jack Perry and Luchasaurus. For the first time since 2022, Jurassic Express reunited as a tag team. Stalwart members of the All Elite Wrestling roster since 2019, this has been a long time coming. That\u2019s over three years. Three years of the son of Luke Perry<\/a> and the wrestling dinosaur wrestling without the other by their side.<\/span><\/p>\n

As AEW Originals, Jurassic Express is a breath of fresh air. Tony Khan has recently pivoted his loyal soldiers to prominent roles on the card. Well, most of them (*cough* Nyla Rose *cough*). Considering the time apart, it\u2019s clear that fans were more than ready for it as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, what\u2019s in store for this rejoined alliance?<\/span><\/p>\n

Jurassic Express Recap<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Of course, a lot transpired in Jack Perry and Luchasaurus\u2019 lives in their time apart. Jack Perry struggled to find his place after his prehistoric friend turned against him. He did have some chance encounters with MJF and briefly teamed with HOOK.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But due to all the failures he\u2019d suffered in singles competition, Perry turned heel and won the FTW Championship from HOOK in the process. Unfortunately for Perry, he found himself suspended in August 2023 following a backstage altercation that also resulted in the firing of CM Punk.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the kayfabe vehicle for the Young Bucks and Tony Khan\u2019s decision to bring him back<\/a>. Dubbed the \u201cScapegoat\u201d, Perry treated himself like a sacrificial lamb, a martyr. In my opinion, he stood out as a sore thumb against the goofy Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada. Following Full Gear 2024, Perry took time off from wrestling, barring an appearance at the Tokyo Dome at NJPWxAEW Wrestle Dynasty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding Luchasaurus, he became the TNT Champion and Christian Cage\u2019s verbal punching bag. Soon, their Patriarchy stable as a whole began mistreating him. He essentially became Jerry Gergich from the hit NBC series Parks & Recreation.<\/span><\/p>\n

A horrifying ailment struck the dinosaur when he was rushed to the hospital for double pneumonia. This sidelined him for almost a year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Reunion<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ahead of AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door 2025, The Patriarchy\u2019s Nick Wayne suffered an injury ahead of his and Kip Sabian\u2019s match against the reunited Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. The London crowd in the O2 Arena waited with baited breath to see who would take Wayne\u2019s place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The arena went dark, and a vignette played, showing the resuscitation of \u201cKillswitch\u201d. Eagle-eyed fans immediately suspected a certain scapegoat at the hands of this revival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glad to face the man who trodden on him for the past few years, he got his licks in. Unwilling to endure Sabian\u2019s insults and abuse, however, he left him to lose the match. This continued until the September to Remember episode of AEW Dynamite ahead of All Out in Toronto<\/a>. He simply stormed out on the Patriarchy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later, following the AEW World Tag Team Championship 4-way Ladder Match, something special happened. From behind, Perry confronted the Young Bucks, mourning as BroDido departed with their retained World Tag Team Championship. They instantly got the better of Perry, almost too easily. Readying for a BTE Trigger, the Bucks were halted as darkness cloaked the Scotiabank Arena. In the light was Killswitch, who laid them out. Helping Perry up, the dinosaur removed his Killswitch weight belt, signifying he was Luchasaurus<\/a> once more. The Canadian audience frenzied as “Tarzan Boy” by Baltimora echoed through the arena.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Much has happened in the AEW tag team division between their breakup and realignment. The Lucha Bros departed the company in 2024. Best Friends dissolved, and Chuck Taylor retired. FTR became heels again. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunited. The Hurt Syndicate took the tag team roster by storm, as did JetSpeed. The Outrunners rose to stardom and subsequently plateaued. Brody King and Bandido combined for tag team success, currently reigning as the AEW World Tag Team Champions.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Does This Mean?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Earlier, I mentioned that Tony Khan was putting his cards on the table for the talent that\u2019s stayed with AEW through thick and thin. Considering what the tag team has been through in their personal lives, the moment they reunited was cathartic. Perry was a literal scapegoat following the CM Punk incident at Wembley Stadium, whereas Luchasaurus\u2019s health took a scary nosedive.<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019ve had singles titles during their separation. With that side of the division thriving with top talent, there wasn\u2019t much place for them. But in the tag team division? It\u2019s starving. Often ignored as of late. With Death Riders, the Don Callis Family, the Young Bucks, FTR, GOA, and Hurt Syndicate running roughshod as heels, there needs to be babyface teams to balance it. Copeland and Cage, JetSpeed, Outrunners, Top Flight, and BroDido are the top teams. Perhaps it\u2019s time for Jurassic Express to shake things up.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the nostalgia booking the major U.S. promotions need right now. The fans in the Scotiabank Arena wasted no time in singing “Tarzan Boy” for an ultimate feel-good moment. Long-term booking seasoned them, informing more of their characters. They\u2019re more than \u201cthe boy and his dinosaur<\/a>\u201d. Moreover, they\u2019ve been hurt. Discarded. Forgotten. Mistreated. Take your pick.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, how will Jurassic Express chug along the tag team railroad this time around? Hopefully championship opportunities. But of course, they\u2019re in the right spot to stand across the ring from Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, given the history they have with the latter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Regardless of what\u2019s next for them, things are about to get prehistoric. Welcome back, Jurassic Express.<\/span><\/p>\n
