A huge announcement was made that ESPN will become the home to WWE’s PLEs. It’s a massive move into more mainstream waters for World Wrestling Entertainment. It won’t take long for everyone to see how the partnership will work out with WWE’s Wrestlepalooza, which is only a few days away.

Wrestlepalooza is shaping up to be WWE’s biggest show of the year. They have stacked the card with massive matches. In fact, there isn’t a contest on the card that wouldn’t make for a great main event in its own right. It is a night that WWE has showcased its very best to pique our interest. A night filled with reasons for you to tune in. Reasons that are listed below.

John Cena Battles The Beast

There have been many stops on John Cena’s retirement tour, but this one has to be the most exciting. Brock Lesnar and John Cena have a tremendous history. They were a part of the fabled 2002 class of OVW and have engaged in some of the most brutal matches in WWE history. Lesnar has attacked Cena twice upon his surprise returns, and it’s only fitting that he be one of John Cena’s last matches.

The battles between these two men have been legendary, and Wrestlepalooza will be the last time that we get to see it. It will be the end of a legendary feud that has spanned decades and driven eras. If you are a fan of wrestling, this match alone begs you to tune in on Saturday.

A Mixed Tag Team Match For The Ages

Mixed tag team matches don’t usually get the amount of hype that has surrounded this one. Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, CM Punk & AJ Lee have gotten very personal very quickly. Rollins and Punk have had their issues for years, but their wives have now joined the fray, taking some pretty good shots at the other one.

Outside of the external drama, this tag match should be a very entertaining one. Rollins, Lynch, Punk, and Lee are some of the best workers WWE has to offer. This deviates from most mixed tag matches, which typically lack this level of wrestling talent.

They have the chemistry and talent to make this match the best of the night. The drama is there, and the wrestlers are there for what could be the best mixed tag match in WWE history.

The Uso’s Reunite To Battle The Vision

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed have been a force since they combined their efforts. They have been great heavies for the World Heavyweight Champion, bringing their imposing style of offense to the game. They have been responsible for putting Roman Reigns on the shelf, showing that there may not be a single man who can stand in their way, which is why the Usos’ teaming again makes this match that much more exciting.

The Usos haven’t teamed together in years, and now is the right time. They will give Breakker and Reed a seasoned team to go to war against. The story of brute force versus speed and experience works here. It’s not very often the Usos team up, and seeing them possibly job to the stronger team will be a massive feather in the cap for The Vision.

Stephanie Vaquer Finally Gets Her Shot

Stephanie Vaquer’s rise to prominence has been the stuff of legend. She quickly became a champion in NXT, and her popularity was such that she was moved to the main roster. On the main roster, she has established herself as a championship contender, but life has gotten in the way of her getting her opportunity. Luckily, that wait is now over, and Stephanie Vaquer will get her shot in Indianapolis.

The match with Iyo Sky was not what was planned, but it should be nothing short of fantastic. Both women have been putting on amazing matches after an excellent match, and their styles will mesh very well together. It should be great fun watching them create, and even more fun seeing Vaquer capture the Women’s World Championship.

Drew McIntyre And Cody Rhodes Tear The House Down

This is a match that the wrestling world has been waiting for. Since Cody Rhodes finished his story, Drew McIntyre has been one of the most effective heels on the roster. WWE has teased a showdown between the two for a while now, but has never followed through. That tease has now come to fruition, and we will get one of the best title defenses of Rhodes’ career on Saturday.

The issues between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes are going to make this match incredibly intense. The lead-up has been violent, and no doubt it will seep into the action at Wrestlepalooza. This is going to be as hard-hitting a match as any on the card, and will be a tentpole match for both men’s careers. Saturday, we will finally get the showdown we have all been waiting for.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WWE WrestlePalooza and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
