The reason Roman Reigns was in Australia is that he has been cast as Akuma in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Working alongside director Kitao Sakurai confirms his role as one of the franchise\u2019s most powerful and dangerous villains. Known for his fiery presence in WWE, Reigns is a natural fit to bring Akuma to life on the big screen, making him an obvious choice for the legendary character.<\/p>\n

Final WWE Appearance at Clash in Paris<\/h2>\n

The last place Roman Reigns appeared within the squared circle was at the Clash in Paris premium live event on August 31. After defeating Bronson Reed in a tough singles match, the victory celebration didn\u2019t last long. Reed and his partner in The Vision, Bron Breakker, ambushed Reigns with a vicious post-match assault. Breakker hit him with two fatal spears, and Reed hit him with three Tsunami splashes before he was stretchered out of the arena by WWE officials.<\/p>\n

WWE announced on Raw<\/em> that Roman Reigns fractured his ribs and will be out indefinitely, with this kayfabe injury acting as the reason so he can fulfill his filming obligations.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Roman Reigns is not the only WWE superstar who will star in the Street Fighter movie. The current Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, has already finished shooting the project. Rhodes has been appearing in Australia since last month and has since made it back to television. He made his comeback on the September 12 episode of SmackDown<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Roman Reigns is temporarily out of WWE action as he turns his attention to the role of a lifetime as Akuma in the newest Street Fighter movie. Although his fans are anxiously anticipating his comeback, this latest venture allows Reigns to be in the limelight and broaden his career even beyond the wrestling ring. There is no question that his ultimate return to WWE will be even more exciting following this high-profile project.<\/p>\n
