Before Lesnar could utter a word, R-Truth would perform his way to the ring. Brock proceeded to tell Truth to “shut up.” R-Truth would turn the tables, wanting to be the first WWE Superstar to welcome Lesnar back to the WWE. R-Truth would proceed to state why he’s here, and that’s to defend his “big brother” John Cena’s honor, proceeding to call himself “Ron Cena.” Brock Lesnar was not having it, only wanting to know where Cena was. Truth kept pushing the issue that he wants to “stop the disrespect,” saying that “Super Cena” is coming for “The Beast” at Wrestlepalooza. Ending his statement by saying that Cena wouldn’t be running away from The Beast, he’ll be feeding on him. Brock would then point out that Truth was missing a tooth, proceeding to give him a violent F5 on the canvas, making a statement ahead of the PLE in Indianapolis.

We see United States Champion Sami Zayn talking to someone backstage, thankful that John Cena gave him the right to issue his own U.S. Open Challenge. Zayn proceeded to say that he’s honored to have this competitor to be the first to take the challenge, which ended up being Rey Fenix. Next, we see a title match for the U.S. Title. The crowd was hot for this match throughout, and rightfully so, since these two men put on a “Match of the Night” to begin this week’s action for SmackDown. Fenix, on more than a handful of occasions, had won the United States Title. However, Zayn will not bow out, clutching extremely hard onto the gold. After a well-placed Helluva Kick and the pin, Sami Zayn remains United States Champion.

The “Beautiful Madness” and United States Champion Giulia go one-on-one with B-FAB. The match wouldn’t even begin as Kiana James and Giulia would beat down B-FAB before the bell could even ring, with the champion delivering a crushing Arrivederci Knee. Before Giulia and James could stomp B-FAB’s head in, Michin would come to her aid, sporting a Kendo Stick to run Giulia and Kiana out of the ring.

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton looks to continue “Tiffy Time” as she defends the title against SummerSlam opponent and Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill. In arguably a better sequel to their SummerSlam championship match, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton went all out. Neither woman wanted to give an inch, going tit for tat. The bout was so intense that it even spilled out into the ringside area. Stratton would get the upper hand for a bit, but missed a Moonsault on the outside, allowing Jade Cargill to charge and tackle her into the barricade, completely shattering it. Unfortunately, neither woman could answer the 10 count, resulting in a draw. Immediately after this, Nia Jax would assault both women, ending the confrontation with an Annihilator to Stratton, making her intentions clear.

After a video package highlighting the history between John Cena and Brock Lesnar ahead of WWE Wrestlepalooza, Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring for his main event Grudge Match with “The Viper” Randy Orton. As expected, these two men battered each other. In the closing moments of the match, Orton would hit the RKO, but he could not capitalize as Drew rolled out of the ring. As McIntyre was re-entering the square circle. Orton would hit with a Draping DDT, then set up for the Punt Kick. The official would discourage Orton from doing this, Randy would push him aside and execute the Punt Kick, only to miss. Drew would push the official towards Randy, causing a distraction, and an opening for him to hit the Claymore and notch the win. After the match, Drew would try to Claymore Orton into the announce desk. Fortunately, Cody Rhodes would make his comeback, chasing off McIntyre and setting up a match for next Saturday to end the night.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SmackDown results for September 12, 2025.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the WWE SmackDown results and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
