Last week, after their big win in the All-Star 8-Man Tag match, Don Callis made it clear to the AEW Men’s World Champion, Hangman Adam Page, that a member of The Don Callis Family will take his championship. The numbers game overwhelmed the champion and JetSpeed until Kenny “by god” Omega returned!

Clearing the ring and taking out Lance Archer with the V-trigger/buckshot combo, these former friends, stablemates, and AEW World Tag Team Champions are united again. How this will play into All Out may be determined Wednesday night in another All-Star 8-Man Tag match. More on that match later.

Elsewhere, Mercedes Mone will defend her TBS Championship. We’ll find out what’s next for Darby Allin and Jon Moxley and whether Gabe Kidd can do what Claudio Castagnoli could not: stop the daredevil. One side will fall to defeat and be left meaningless and weak.

AEW Dynamite Matches Announced

TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone © vs. Alex Windsor

All-Star 8-Man Tag: Hangman Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and JetSpeed vs. Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander, and The Young Bucks

TBS Championship

For Mercedes Mone to pursue her quest to break Ultimo Dragon’s record, two things stand in her way. First, Mone needs to win 12 belts, as a fun fact, Ultimo Dragon held 11 belts (something I’ll explore more later this week). Second, Mone will have to retain her TBS Championship against the woman who had her tapping at Forbidden Door, Alex Windsor.

Windsor’s time in AEW has been fruitful and memorable. More than tangoing with “Timeless” Toni Storm, Windsor’s hard-hitting and physicality show her iron will. Champion and challenger have already danced in tag and four-way action; one-on-one will allow an even playing field.

At Forbidden Door, Mone was able to weasel her way to victory. Against Windsor, the CEO will need to be more versatile. This contest could help set the groundwork for something big for All In next year.

All-Star 8-Man Tag

Multi-man matches serve as a barometer for how hot the product is and how engaged fans are. At their hottest, like those we have seen over the past few months, they are party matches where story and character development are layered between non-stop action.

A big part of this is The Young Bucks, who again find themselves teaming with The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander. The last time this happened, the Bucks received $10,000 fine (each) for super-kicking Justin Roberts. Now, facing off against former allies, and given all the production pranking has referenced the brother duo’s history. Could we see a tease that The Elite may get back together?

Opposite them, Hangman Page and Kenny Omega are vastly different individuals from the last time they teamed up. The dynamic is different. Each man’s role in the company has changed, but will their chemistry be the same?

This is without considering the chemistry we’ve observed between opponents. JetSpeed has become deeply integrated into the roster with ease. Their innovative high-flying offense has already pushed The Young Bucks to their limits.

Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander have frequently shown they can hang with the best wrestlers of today; this could steal the entire week. Fletcher might have the TNT Championship, but could we see The Protostar find his way into the world title picture?

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on AEW Dynamite preview and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop. You can always count on LWOPW to be on top of the major news in the wrestling world.
