There were murmurs that Scotland’s Isla Dawn was backstage. Who else from the UK indie scene could show up for a one-off appearance, or the start of a new career chapter? I mean, given Max Caster hosts his first International Open Challenge and his win-loss record is… interesting. More on that shortly.

With three contests announced and a fourth teased, we can speculate on final exclamation marks ahead of Sunday. With little from The Young Bucks, Swerve Strickland, or Nigel McGuinness this week ahead of their big matches Sunday, there’s surely more of these big talkers to say?

That would be a couple of the sounds that I’d really like.

AEW Collision Matches Announced

The Young Bucks vs. Paragon

Skye Blue and Julia Hart vs. Queen Aminata and Willow Nightingale

First International Max Caster Open Challenge

GOA vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

Match Speculation

A match involving Sky Flight and The Don Callis Family

First Max Caster International Challenge

These squash segments have seen Max Caster transform himself from an online edgelord to a lovable, yet deluded, comedy dork. Hearing a crowd with thick Scottish accents try to change “Let’s go Max, you’re the best wrestler alive” will require subtitles. It’s what’s made Caster a breakout singles star this year and a weekly joy.

In the past, these matches have yielded significant returns and attracted heavy hitters who utilize Caster as a stepping stone. Sometimes, they have been a backdoor means of getting someone a rebound win or providing a segment for more storyline progression.

With that said, could Swerve Strickland come out for a tune-up ahead of Sunday? Might Killswitch send Caster to the tar pit? Hiromu Takahashi has been suspiciously absent, with little build for his TNT Championship challenge. A match against the Best Wrestler Alive© could be an ideal warm-up and intro for those unfamiliar with his game.

Maybe Caster gets a home-nation beating. Nigel McGuinness could give Caster an exclusive look at the London Dungeon. Zack Sabre Jr could make Caster feel pain in regions he never knew could hurt. Gabe Kidd nutting (a headbutt for those not accustomed to British slang), Caster into a hospital bed.

So many fun possibilities.

The Young Bucks vs. Paragon

With so much history between all the men involved and two different internal storylines where each team is adjusting to a change in their place in the AEW landscape, it’s going to be a banger. Already, the match graphic shows AEW’s media department having more fun with the former EVPs. Ahead of Sunday, the brother team is going to be desperate to prove their value to Moxley after several big losses.

As for the Paragon, there’s tension there between Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. Kyle’s former, but lingering association with the Conglomeration is creating friction with Strong. Not everyone, from Strong’s reaction, is a fan of

O’Reilly’s antics. Given how recent it is since Adam Cole was forced to step away from the ring, expect this story thread to be teased out slowly.

Likewise, expect this contest and either pre- or post-match angle to connect to one of the many matches on tap for Forbidden Door.
