Everyone’s favorite propane and propane accessories salesman headed to SmackDown tonight as part of an announced special crossover between WWE and Hulu’s King of the Hill revival.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, King of the Hill returned to screens for the first time in 15 years, and by all estimates, it’s been a rousing success. <\/a>Through the show’s 14th season, fans had the chance to return to Arlen, Texas, where, for all that had changed, much of what fans loved about the series remained the same.<\/p>\n

The show utilized a time jump to show aged versions of its titular characters and a now 21-year-old Bobby Hill. During the time the show was away, so too were Hank and Peggy Hill. The Arlen they return to comes with new characters, new challenges, and of course, new adventures for Hank and the gang.<\/p>\n

But tonight is perhaps their wildest adventure yet, as it was announced last week that King of the Hill would be coming to SmackDown for a special event as part of Hulu’s recent media blitz for the show’s successful return, which has included activations with NASCAR, Whataburger, Fortnite, and Theo Von’s podcast.<\/p>\n

Hulu also re-created the set of King of the Hill’s famous alley as part of a Comic Con activation that was reportedly visited by just under 10,000 people. Additional crossovers are planned for baseball stadiums in St. Louis and Texas, along with PBR rings, theaters, concerts, Walmart locations, signage at Disney resorts, Funko pops, and a multi-year distribution deal to bring Alamo beer, the beverage from the show, to retailers nationwide by 2026.<\/p>\n

King of the Hill WWE SmackDown Crossover<\/h2>\n

According to Variety<\/a>, tonight’s crossover will see King of the Hill signage on the wrestling mats along with digital creative shown throughout the arena. That was indeed the case on SmackDown, with LED boards, the ring, as well as the ring posts and ring aprons decked out in digital signages of the Hulu revival of the series, showcasing a strong King of the Hill presence.<\/p>\n

Additionally, superstars such as Johnny Gargano and Sheamus were featured in videos inspired by popular moments from the show’s history.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal was to create a cultural moment as iconic as Hank Hill himself \u2014 with every touchpoint thoughtfully crafted to reflect the DNA of this beloved series,\u201d noted Shannon Ryan, who is not only president of marketing for Disney Entertainment Television but was also part of the team that originally helped to launch King of the Hill on Fox in 1997. \u201cWe wanted to go as big as Texas, so we focused on clever executions and bold partnerships that we felt would resonate and connect with fans of all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n
