Continuous bickering and shouting during their walkthrough caused the judges to worry if their disagreements would carry into the match.

The match started with a strong and lengthy tie-up that led the two competitors to fall through the middle ropes. Both competitors got up and tied up again on the floor and stayed tied up as they rolled back into the ring. They finally broke the tie-up once the referee interjected.

The two would exchange verbal jabs before Luke rushed Lewis into the corner. Lewis got out with a strong forearm, but Luke gained the upper hand again with a headlock into a shoulder tackle. Lewis hit Luke with a dropkick, but missed a big boot, leading to a chop block by Luke to Lewis’ left knee.

Luke would focus on the knee for the remainder of the match. After a powerslam, Luke would hit Lewis with a leg drag into a pin attempt. Lewis would attempt a backslide pin before reversing a powerslam. Luke would again chop block the knee, and he dragged Lewis into the corner to slam his knee into it.

After a clothesline attempt, Lewis dropped Luke on the top rope, leading to a clothesline into a backdrop. Luke again knocked Lewis down by targeting his left knee. On a powerbomb attempt, Lewis reversed it into a roll-up, using the ropes to get the three count and victory.

This match felt as though both wrestlers wanted to look good, and neither wanted to lose. This resulted in a barrage of moves, not giving the audience enough time to digest the match.

Second Match: Shiloh Hill vs. Trill London

This match was strong-hitting from the get-go, as Shiloh Hill attacked Trill London as London entered the ring. Hill shoulder tackled London into the corner, but London ducked a punch, allowing him to land his punches. He attempted to get the upper hand again, but London used this opportunity to hit a hurricanrana back into the corner.

Hill hit a clothesline, and then he threw London into the tree of woe. He then locked London into a crossface, but London worked out of it through body shots. Hill regained the momentum with another Irish whip into the corner.

He put up London for a corner bomb, but London reversed into a surprise roll-up for a nearfall. London hit Hill with a flying leg drop, flipping over the top rope to do so. The match ended with a swanton bomb from London for the upset victory.

Both Hill and London played their characters well within this match. Hill did a great job executing the power moves, while London was able to show off his aerial abilities. London took most of his moveset from Jeff Hardy, making it challenging for him to stand out.

Third Match: Sirena Linton vs. Bayley Humphrey

This match was unfortunately shortened due to injury.

The two women began with a lockup, leading to Humphrey tossing Linton. After another lockup and toss, Linton rolled out of the ring. The two had a comical back-and-forth, mocking each other’s poses.

Humphrey dragged Linton back into the ring by her hair, but she was able to work her way out. She climbed to the top turnbuckle, only to be grabbed by Humphrey and put into a fireman’s carry.

It was here that Humphrey gently let down a limp Linton onto the mat. The referee threw up the X, stopping the match.

Afterwards, and still dazed, Linton said she had blacked out when she went to the top rope. Booker T, Linton’s coach, believed she hit her head when she was shoved out of the lock-up at the beginning of the match.

Main Event: Penina Tuilaepa vs. Zena Sterling

Penina Tuilaepa and Zena Sterling began with a lockup into chain wrestling. Sterling attempted a suplex, but Tuilaepa kept blocking them, eventually ramming Sterling into the corner. They locked up again, this time Tuilaepa pushing Sterling into the other corner.

Sterling tried to get out of the lock-up by climbing to the top rope, leading to Tuilaepa slamming her out of the corner. Sterling was able to gain the upper hand again with numerous uppercuts. She attempted a bodyslam, but once she realized she could not pick up Tuilaepa, she chop-blocked her leg.

Tuilaepa got up and surprised Sterling with a spear and a pin attempt. She lifted Sterling’s shoulders after the second count, insinuating that she was not done with her yet. Sterling gained momentum through a series of uppercuts. She hit Tuilaepa with a staggering number of chops. Sterling succeeded with a bodyslam, which she turned into a stomp, leading to a win for her.

The main event was the match of the night. Tuilaepa continues to find herself both as a character and in the ring. Sterling is the best female wrestler on the show, and it is not close. She is entertaining, her ring presence is impressive, and she knows how to work the audience.

Final Results

For the women, Luke received two of the four votes to earn a point for Team McCool. For the men, it was Tuilaepa and the second point of the night for Team McCool.

After the vote, Bubba Ray Dudley cut a promo on the legends, putting Sterling over for being unfairly judged because she is “too good.” This resulted in Dudley walking off the stage as the episode ended.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the WWE LFG results and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
