After Cody Rhodes had defeated John Cena<\/a> for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2025<\/a>, Rhodes would leave Cena to bask in the adulation of the WWE Universe before the menacing music of Brock Lesnar would blare through the MetLife Stadium speakers. Lesnar, who it should be noted is named in the Vince McMahon\/Janel Grant lawsuit<\/a>, would go down to the ring and size up Cena. The Beast would not waste time, immediately going after a battered Cena with a devastating F5.<\/p>\n

It’s been years since we saw Lesnar in a WWE ring with recent talk suggesting he never would return in part due to the ongoing lawsuit. Lest we forget, John Cena was the first opponent of Brock Lesnar when he came back to WWE in 2012, and history looks like it’s repeating itself. WWE opted not to run a SummerSlam press conference, perhaps wanting to avoid any optic based questions on Lesnar’s return. So it’s unclear if him coming back is merely a way, however murky, to bring things full circle for Cena and allow him to run it back with his greatest rivals in his final days.<\/p>\n

At that year’s Extreme Rules Premium Live Event, Lesnar and Cena went to great lengths to destroy each other. Cena walked away with a shallow victory after a brutal Extreme Rules match. It seems like 13 years later, Lesnar has not forgotten.<\/p>\n

We still have four months till the John Cena retirement is over, and it looks like John Cena will have to go through the beast once again.<\/p>\n
