It’s crazy how time flies, as WWE SummerSlam 2015 is now almost exactly 10 years ago. The event took place on August 23, 2015. It was truly an unforgettable time for the WWE, with the talent they had and the stories they were producing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of the matches that were had will go down in WWE history, and many of the superstars who debuted in the company around that time have now become WWE veterans. We have also seen some of the stars from this era become WWE Hall of Famers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s incredible to see how the company has changed since then. But it is also nice to reminisce on these exciting times, especially since SummerSlam 2025<\/a> will be taking place this coming weekend. If it weren\u2019t for the history of the WWE, the company wouldn\u2019t be where it is now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena<\/h2>\n

This match is specifically unforgettable. It was a title-for-title match, which we don\u2019t see often. Between the two most prominent names in the company at the time, and still to this day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The anticipation was high among fans, as only a few weeks prior, Seth Rollins had broken Cena\u2019s nose with a knee to the face on Monday Night Raw. The match at SummerSlam was built up perfectly as the all-American champion, John Cena, battled one of the biggest and best heels that WWE has had, the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.<\/span><\/p>\n

The match certainly did not disappoint and was filled with plenty of surprises. It was very unpredictable who the winner could have been, as Cena was still looking to break Ric Flair\u2019s record of holding the most WWE World Titles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No matter what, fans knew one of them would win the match and walk out with both titles draped on their shoulders. What no one expected was the return of WCW legend Sting on the following episode of Monday Night Raw. Returning to challenge the winner, Seth Rollins, for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. This era of Cena and Rollins was truly unforgettable, creating some of the best stories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Team Bella vs. Team P.C.B. vs Team B.A.D<\/h2>\n

2015 was the year that changed the future of women\u2019s wrestling. It was the birth of the Divas’ Revolution, which soon evolved into the Women\u2019s Evolution. The movement officially began taking action in the company when they debuted Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The fans wanted a change in women\u2019s wrestling, and this was the opportunity. Once the three debuted, they formed their respective teams, and they went off running. This SummerSlam had an elimination triple threat tag team match between the teams consisting of Team Bella (Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Alicia Fox), Team P.C.B. (Paige, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch), and Team B.A.D. (Naomi, Tamina Snuka, and Sasha Banks).<\/span><\/p>\n

This match held significant meaning, being one of the first major matches of the Divas\u2019 Revolution. The ladies did not disappoint, as each of them got the opportunity to showcase their talent. Ultimately, the fan favorites, Team P.C.B., came out on top. The women’s division is one where watching their growth is immaculate. They just successfully completed their second all-women’s PLE, Evolution.<\/span><\/p>\n
