Announced on Wednesday night’s broadcast, alongside an incomplete set of brackets. FTR has already progressed to the semi-finals after defeating Jet Speed. Yet, with three-quarters of the finals left blank, it makes you wonder whether the intention is to surprise.

That, perhaps, given the Forbidden Door nature, we’ll see some international tag teams. FTR still have unresolved issues with CMLL’s Atlantis and Atlantis Jr. New Japan G1 Climax has kicked off, making availability trickier.

A problem previous AEW tournaments have experienced is that the winner is telegraphed. FTR is already through. Adam Copeland acquired The Hurt Syndicate’s backing. Let’s hope for surprises.

Anchoring the show is a big women’s division contest. Alex Windsor is coming to deliver consequences, with a handful of grease in her hair.

AEW Collision Matches Announced

TNT Championship: Dustin Rhodes (c) vs. Lee Moriarty

ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Alex Windsor

AEW World Tag Team Eliminator Tournament quarter-finals continue.

ROH Women’s World Championship

New signee Alex Windsor disrupted Athena’s attempts to win the AEW Women’s World Championship on Dynamite. The Fallen Goddess beat down the champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, after Storm defeated her minion, Billie Starkz.

Windsor stopped the attempted execution of her AEW Women’s World Title contract for two reasons. First, Windsor has a history (not that kind) with Storm from their time together on the UK indie scene. Second, payback for the Forever ROH Champion stealing her spotlight after her AEW debut.

This will be a rematch for the ROH Women’s World Championship. ROH’s Global Wars Australia event in February put Windsor on some fans’ radars. Coming close to defeating Athena, could there be an upset?

For Athena to move up to AEW, she will eventually have to relinquish the championship. Many have speculated that a prestigious victory will be Billie Starkz’s. Elsewhere this year, AEW seems willing to change possible foreshadowed plans. It’s not like the champion only works on Wednesdays. Many of Storm’s most memorable moments occurred on Collision.

TNT Championship

Dustin Rhodes makes his first defence of the TNT Championship against a young man who may become a future technical great. This year, Lee Moriarty has already competed for the TNT Championship against Daniel Garcia. The Master of “Taiga Style” has also been grafting in ROH.

Moriarty has a string of impressive victories as the ROH Pure Champion, having beaten Robbie Eagles, Nigel McGuinness, and most recently the legendary Blue Panther at Supercard of Honour. However, these victories fell under pure rules.

As a member of Shane Taylor Promotions, Moriarty isn’t coming alone, but likely, Rhodes isn’t either. Rhodes has two sets of tag partners. Sammy Guevara and ROH six-man tag champions, Marshall and Ross Von Erich. Even if Rhodes comes alone, the triple champion, The Last of his Kind, will keep steppin’.

Rhodes is performing at an incredible caliber beyond his age. This will be part showcase match for Moriarty, but also a reminder of why Dustin Rhodes remains nearly timeless.

Expect more post-match from The Don Callis Family. Kyle Fletcher has made his intentions clear.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on AEW Collision and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.

You can always count on LWOPW to be on top of the major news in the wrestling world.
