He avenged his loss in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 19 last January and has also defeated ZSJ for the second G1 in a row.

Roughneck’s big win puts him at four points, while the champion is still at two points that he got via Gabe Kidd’s forfeiture. Technically, this loss means ZSJ has yet to win a match in this year’s tournament so far.

YOSHI-HASHI Leads B Block

YOSHI-HASHI is now sitting atop B Block after defeating a very game Drilla Moloney. He now has six points and is the only undefeated wrestler left in the entire tournament.

The Headhunter is on a roll and has great momentum on his side after winning three in a row against tough opponents. Meanwhile, G1 first-timer Moloney suffered his first loss and remains at four points.

Narita Pins Another Champion, Takeshita Bounces Back

NJPW World TV champion El Phantasmo lost for the second time in this year’s G1 against Ren Narita after beating Takeshita for the first time in four matches on day two. Narita’s win gives him four points and pinfall victories over two champions, since he also defeated IWGP World Heavyweight champion Zack Sabre Jr. on day one, while ELP remains with two points.

Meanwhile, Konosuke Takeshita is back on the winning track after beating Great O-Khan. Both men now have four points each, but more importantly, Takeshita has the tiebreaker between them in case they end up with the same point total in the playoff race.

Other NJPW G1 Climax 35 News

In other news, Gabe Kidd forfeited his second tournament match in a row against Shingo Takagi due to his knee injury that he sustained on day one. Kidd is still not cleared to compete and was a no-show, which gave Takagi his first two points of the tournament.

G1 action will continue on Friday, July 25, featuring the A Block. The main event will be Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. David Finlay.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – NJPW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on NJPW G1 Climax 35 results and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
