Masatora Yasuda &amp; Shoma Kato<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kick off match 1: Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Zane Jay ~ time limit draw<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, a note on commentary: New Japan will provide an update on the injury status of former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto tomorrow, July 5 JST.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Ryohei Oiwa and YOSHI-HASHI complete the G1 35 lineup<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TMDK\u2019s Ryohei Oiwa and Bishamon\u2019s other half, YOSHI-HASHI, claimed the final two spots in the G1 Climax 35 after winning their respective play-in matches. Oiwa fended off a very game Satoshi Kojima while YOSHI-HASHI scored a win over Chase Owens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The win over Kojima was one of the biggest in Oiwa\u2019s young career, as it propelled him to his first-ever G1. On the other hand, YOSHI-HASHI will compete in the tournament for the first time in two years, where he tallied 4 points out of a possible maximum of 14.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>New NEVER Six-Man Tag Team champions<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">House of Torture did not have the best of days yesterday, as they also lost the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team titles. Toru Yano, YOH, and Master Wato prevailed despite the familiar shenanigans that HoT pulled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new champs had to endure an attack during their entrance, an assault on YOH\u2019s previously injured left shoulder, and interferences by DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru to win. As a result, Yano became a seven-time holder of the titles, while YOH and Wato gained confidence heading to their rematch with SHO &amp; DOUKI for the Jr. Tag Team titles on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Gabe Kidd clinches V1<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New IWGP Global champion Gabe Kidd made a successful first defense against Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event. Kidd tested Tana throughout the match with his relentless brawling, and the challenger fought back with an intense flurry. In the end, Kidd was able to inflict enough damage to get the victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After winning, Kidd took the microphone and talked about what the match meant to him. <em>\u201cWithout Tanahashi-san, I might not be alive anymore, so to have this match in Tokyo on his final road, that means the world to me,\u201d<\/em> Kidd poured out after mentioning that Tanahashi would often Facetime him back in 2022, when he was facing personal struggles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The big win over the Ace gives Kidd a huge boost entering his third consecutive G1, which begins on July 19.
