Women’s Championship Matches Set for Evolution II<\/h2>\n
During WWE’s double show (live Raw\/SmackDown taping), no shortage of Evolution II challenges were announced as the ‘new’ women’s tag team champions, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez are set to defend their titles against a team from Raw, team from NXT, and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, who won a qualifying match on SmackDown<\/a>. In addition, champion’s advantage was provided with both world champs getting to choose who they’d face. IYO SKY chose Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton chose her one-time tag team partner and friend, Trish Stratus.<\/p>\n Stratton was out to address the crowd talking about her upcoming SummerSlam match against Jade Cargill. But before that, was Evolution II and Stratton was ready to defend her title against the best. Stratton challenged seven-time women’s world champion Trish Stratus to a match and naturally, the legend accepted.<\/p>\n Tiffy and Trishy Time<\/strong><\/p>\n At Elimination Chamber, Stratton and Stratus teamed up to take down the team of Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Their friendship was showcased in the weeks leading up to the event with the duo even rocking matching custom jerseys for their match. Their partnership in fact was the reason for Stratus’ return as those matches against Stratton showed the champ that she wanted to go head-to-head with the all-time legend. In her return, Stratus acknowledged her respect for Stratton and desire to see how well she matched up with the champ at Evolution II. Stratton was quick to extend the challenge, gladly offering one of WWE’s true trailblazers a chance to claim her eighth world title and what would be her first in nearly 20 years.<\/p>\n This will be Stratus’ first singles match since she took on Becky Lynch inside a steel cage at Payback in 2023.
