The Saudi PLEs haven’t had the greatest track record, but this card is set up for success. From top to bottom, every match has a great story behind it and has the potential to be the match of the night.

Triple H had expanded his usual five-match card and added a sixth contest. It’s nice to see a bit more parity on the PLE, and it will give fans more action to absorb. Night of Champions will be a great night of wrestling and, hopefully, it will include a surprise or two.

At the end of Night of Champions, only a select few will have their hands raised. A strong argument can be made for all, but only a few predictions will be correct. Let’s see if these predictions pan out Saturday night.

WWE Night of Champions 2025 Predictions

Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross

The slow burn with this angle has been fantastic. Karrion Kross has been playing the devil’s advocate for a while now, with various talents, but it has been great with Sami Zayn.

Kross has pulled at the string of Zayn, not having the killer instinct to succeed, and we have slowly seen a character shift because of it. There is an opportunistic nature to the man from Quebec we haven’t seen before.

Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn should open the night, and it’s the right choice to get the crowd hot. It will be a great match, pulling off the emotions of both men. Karrion Kross has been goading Zayn into a vicious side, and this is the right time to let this play out.

We could see Zayn lose it and maybe even cheat to win. Either way, this match needs Sami Zayn to win.

Winner: Sami Zayn

United States Championship Match: Jacob Fatu vs Solo Sikoa

Jacob Fatu is a star who is on the cusp of becoming great. His breaking away from Solo Sikoa has been projected for a while now, and we got to see that break at Money in the Bank. Since then, we have got some great back-and-forths from the two, and they have been a great story atop SmackDown’s mid-card ranks.

They should carry this momentum into a fantastic match. This will be a physical contest with each man hitting their best moves. There will be some teasers that Sikoa could win.

There might even be a run-in or two to keep the fans guessing. But this is Jacob Fatu’s world, and we are just living in it. He is going to hold onto his United States Championship for a while, but this feud will continue, so let’s go with a DQ finish to keep things interesting.

Winner: Jacob Fatu

Street Fight: Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Rodriguez

Liv Morgan going down with an injury has thrown a wrench into WWE’s plans, but putting these together is a logical move. Also, a move that should be met with great success as they head into a Street Fight in Saudi Arabia.

While Rodriguez hasn’t been the focal point with Ripley, she has remained on the prereferral throughout. She has been a thorn in The Eradicator’s side, costing her many matches against her fellow Judgement Day member. So, this makes sense to set up a gimmick match that they both will work well in.

Rhea Ripley is the heavy favourite going into this match, but should she be? This match seems tailor-made for Raquel Rodriguez to pull out the upset. It would be a huge boost to a wrestler who desperately needs it.

A loss here wouldn’t hurt Ripley more than a win would make Raquel Rodriguez a force to be reckoned with.

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez

Queen of the Ring Finals: Asuka vs Jade Cargill

This is a true wildcard match at Night of Champions. On paper, this is a tremendous first-time match. Asuka and Jade Cargill match up very well and carry an aura with them that gives this final a big match feel.

Asuka will be leaned on heavily here to walk Cargill through the match. Jade Cargill looks great and can talk, but still has lapses in the ring. If she can keep things crisp, this match will be an underrated classic.

Jade Cargill is the hot hand here and would be the logical choice to win. WWE is looking to push her into the main event, and she would be a huge challenge for SummerSlam. However, it would make more sense to have the returning Asuka walk away the winner.

Asuka is the trusted veteran who needs to make it back to the main event. Also, her friend Iyo Sky is currently the Women’s World Champion, and these two would be perfect opponents for SummerSlam.

Winner: Asuka

King of the Ring Finals: Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton

The world has been waiting for this match since Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE. In Legacy, Rhodes and Orton were an unstoppable force, and outside of a WrestleMania triple threat, we never got to see much from the two.

Since Rhodes made his return, we have all been waiting for WWE to put these two men together, and on Saturday night, we get our wish. Both men are baby faces, but one can expect Orton to lean towards his heel background. It will be the best way to build drama throughout the match, and it will help to cast ambiguity on the finish.

This looks to be a one-off match, for now. Cody Rhodes is the clear favourite to win the King of the Ring, and he should be. Rhodes has not had a major victory since WrestleMania, and he needs one.

Rhodes will be returning to the main event, and a loss here won’t help that. Plus, it looks like Cody Rhodes and John Cena will be the plan for SummerSlam, and this is the way to get there.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

WWE Championship Match: John Cena vs CM Punk

When John Cena announced his retirement tour, this was a match that everyone had circled. Years ago, this contest seemed to be outside the realm of possibility, and now we are only a few hours away from a WWE Championship match for the ages.

CM Punk and John Cena have been money in the past month. Their promos were epic, mocking each other’s past successes. They haven’t rested on their laurels and have put in tremendous work to make the build fantastic.

We didn’t need more reason to care about this match, but they gave us plenty more. Both men are past their prime, so this match might not contain the greatest wrestling; instead, it will lean on story and a slow burn. If done well, it will make an excellent ending to what has been one of WWE’s best rivalries.

It’s hard to see John Cena not holding the WWE Championship heading into his last match in December. CM Punk is going to win a World Championship again, but it won’t be at Night of Champions. There could be some shenanigans to end the match, but rest assured, John Cena will retain.

Winner: John Cena

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WWE Night of Champions, King of the Ring, Queen of the Ring, and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
