WWE is still building the card for this Saturday’s Night of Champions PLE<\/a> which may or may not happen due to increasing tensions in the Middle East<\/a>. On Monday, June 23, Adam Pearce announced a significant change to the card, removing one of the announced title matches.<\/p>\n

Intercontinental Championship Match Canceled from Night of Champions Card<\/h2>\n

After being summoned to Adam Pearce’s office, AJ Styles was told that he would not be getting his title match on the Night of Champions card as Dominik Mysterio was apparently injured. Styles told Pearce Mysterio was ducking him but Pearce claimed Mysterio’s doctor’s note was legit. Pearce told Styles that he was first in line whenever Mysterio was cleared for action.<\/p>\n

And that was that. Whether or not Mysterio is actually injured remains to be seen. However, it is consistent with storyline for Mysterio to try to avoid Styles as the last few weeks have seen him do just that. Mysterio has sent the rest of Judgment Day to try to handle his business but both Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have come up short. The day will come when Mysterio can’t hide behind his mates anymore and when it does, Styles will be ready.<\/p>\n

As to if the whole international crisis brewing in the Middle East had anything to do with this Night of Champions match being removed from the card, that also remains to be seen. But as they say in wrestling, “card subject to change.”<\/p>\n
