However, MCMG was defeated by Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy two weeks ago. Last week, as the teams were having another meeting, the Street Profits announced something big.

They were putting their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line the next week against the Wyatt Sicks. It may seem risky, but the Street Profits have clearly identified their ultimate motivation. However, is putting the titles on the Wyatts a good decision, or will it benefit the story to have the Street Profits retain

The Wyatt Sicks Win Would Help Their Reputation

Just over a year ago, Wyatt Sicks introduced themselves to WWE in an intimidating fashion. Fans were very excited to see what Uncle Howdy was going to do to honor his late brother Bray Wyatt. However, their booking has left a lot to be desired. Prior to their hiatus, they feuded with American Made and the Final Testament.

That meant many mixed and tag team matches and, unlike the Bloodline or Judgment Day, everyone appeared at once. Winning the tag team titles could allow them to split off from each other as necessary.

Having Nikki Cross in the women’s division or Uncle Howdy chasing the United States Championship while the group holds tag team gold spreads them out. A group with their nature should be appearing all over the show. Having them together increases their intimidation factor but decreases their effectiveness across Friday Night SmackDown as a whole.

The Men’s Tag Team Division is Setting Up a Bigger Story

With the arrival of the Wyatt Sicks, the men’s tag team division on SmackDown is working together. Instead of fighting one another, they are forming a giant team to go after a common enemy.

Every man knows that they are very strong, and Candice LeRae knows how dangerous Nikki Cross can get. Having the Street Profits lose their tag team titles would signify that they’ve lost. Letting a strong group like the Wyatt Sicks have ultimate power this early in the story would be a mistake.

WWE has big plans for everyone in the division, including LeRae and Cross. A big eight-man match or mixed ten-person match in the near future is the ideal scenario. Making that the end game would require Wyatt Sicks to be unsuccessful on Friday, something that could take the story to the next level.

Both Outcomes Will Change the Division Greatly

The winners of the WWE Tag Team Championship match on Friday will signify the direction of the men’s tag team division. If the Wyatt Sicks win, they will be a legitimate force across Friday Night SmackDown. They’ll position themselves as a threat to everyone in the brand. But if the Street Profits win, it’ll set up the roots for a potentially huge match months down the line.

Every member of the group, especially Uncle Howdy, will be very angry and looking for payback. The entire division is putting together their differences to address an enemy, something rarely seen in professional wrestling.

Making Wyatt Sicks out to be an unstoppable entity that causes enemies to band together deeply heightens the stakes for Friday’s match. No matter what happens at the end of the match, the men’s tag team division will be forever changed in a major way.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on Wyatt Sicks, WWE SmackDown, and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
