The first season of WWE LFG was filled with lots of competitiveness and emotion from everyone. 17 WWE Performance Center recruits started the competition with a dream to get an NXT contract. In the end, Jasper Troy and Tyra Mae Steele were the winners, defeating Shiloh Hill and Zena Sterling respectively.<\/p>\n
The show allowed fans to see the growth in the competitors as they were coached by WWE legends, while showing both their highs and lows inside and outside the ring. It was recently announced<\/a> that the second season of WWE LFG will be premiering on Sunday, June 22. Just five weeks separate the finale of season one and the premiere of season two.<\/p>\n It definitely is a quick turnaround, given that season one just concluded. However, there are many factors as to why the two seasons are airing this close together.<\/p>\n Even though there is only over a month between airdates, season two of WWE LFG won\u2019t just be a fresh crop of rookies. There will be some competitors from season one back to get another chance at an NXT contract. It was confirmed during the finale that Shiloh Hill and Zena Sterling would be back for season two.<\/p>\n There probably will be more joining them, but that won\u2019t be known until the cast reveal. Allowing eliminated contestants to take that second chance is a great thing. It allows more time for training with WWE legends and their fellow trainees, learning even more and improving their mistakes. Cycling through trainees would make them feel disposable.<\/p>\n Allowing returnees increases the opportunity for overall growth in every aspect. Giving them another chance to learn and develop will definitely help them become better wrestlers in their quest for an NXT contract.<\/p>\n If you look at the main roster, you\u2019ll notice something about the majority of the wrestlers. They started in their developmental system, then worked their way up to the main roster.<\/p>\n Asuka, Bron Breakker, Gunther, and Roxanne Perez are just some of the wrestlers who had immense popularity and success in NXT and carried that to Raw and SmackDown. Even lower shows like NXT Level Up and WWE Evolve have showcased stars and potential future stars of NXT as they began their WWE careers. If they didn\u2019t care about NXT, they wouldn\u2019t have put so much effort into developing wrestlers who can have a future there.<\/p>\n Producing multiple seasons of WWE LFG every year will showcase the beginnings of the next Bron Breakker or Roxanne Perez. Doing that proves that WWE is confident that their developmental system will produce the next stars of NXT.<\/p>\n Having season one and season two of WWE LFG spaced this close together might seem rushed in TV standards. However, given that and the success of WWE Evolve, it seems that NXT will be in good hands for years.<\/p>\n Over the last few months, we have seen many young wrestlers cutting promos and wrestling in front of crowds. As new people start filtering in, the top wrestlers will go on to NXT.<\/p>\n They\u2019ll debut with months of training and wrestling experience, having been guided by WWE legends and experienced wrestlers as opponents.
