Following the exceptional highs of AEW\u2019s Double or Nothing, this week\u2019s edition of AEW Dynamite will likely be a mixture of table-setting and bangers. With only one match announced at the time of writing for El Paso, Texas, speculation is king.<\/p>\n
Looking at the calendar ahead, we are in for a string of fantastic Wednesdays with various themed Dynamites. Fyter Fest next week, Summer Blockbuster in two weeks, and Grand Slam Mexico in three. Additionally, we are six weeks from Dynamite 300, and eight from All In Texas.<\/p>\n
There is plenty of work to do in the short and long term. So, whilst we might have one official match graphic for Wednesday night, we know from the creative turnaround<\/a> of 2025 not to get disheartened by a lack of announcements. AEW likes tradition.<\/p>\n After Anarchy in the Arena, we are waiting to find out where the match beyond will take place. Let the bodies hit the floor!<\/p>\n In the best possible way, Josh Alexander feels like he has been part of AEW for years. Seamlessly fitting into the Don Callis Family, The Walking Weapon has not looked out of place, teaming with or standing against the best the company has to offer. As a heel, Alexander feels a natural fit in the current reinvention of the Family as another immoral killer with a tint of sleaze and penchant for shortcuts.<\/p>\n This Collision rematch against The Hounds of Hell\u2019s Brody King will slap. Their first encounter ended with a time limit draw. Alexander was just able to avoid defeat.<\/p>\n Taking the baton from AEW World Trios Champion, Powerhouse Hobbs, King has replaced the big monster, who\u2019s hunting and making the Family\u2019s life hell. In 2025, King continues to be one of AEW\u2019s most dynamic and crowd-pleasing big men.<\/p>\n King is a vicious dog who has and will refuse to let go once he\u2019s bitten down on his target. With the added stakes of an AEW International Championship shot, it feels like either man could go through to next week\u2019s four-way. Fans do want to see the \u201cBig Bad\u201d pushed.<\/p>\n Yet, I\u2019m in no hurry to skip to the end of this one. This could, like a Trojan horse, have some surprise outcome that builds to the next storyline. Either with Kenny Omega next week, or with The Hounds of Hell (if Buddy Matthews has healed up).<\/p>\n Recency bias might make Anarchy in the Arena this year feel like the best version of the penultimate blow-off plunder brawl. The key word in that last sentence was \u201cpenultimate\u201d, the word of the day. It means the last but one in a series.<\/p>\n If there is one problem with Anarchy in the Arena, it\u2019s never where things end. It\u2019s a tune-up match for the subsequent violence of blood and guts.<\/p>\n With so many special cards coming up, it’s unlikely AEW isn\u2019t going to bring back the double cage. What differs this year is that, like a hammer to a pane of glass, we\u2019ll see splinters and individual feuds going their separate ways afterwards.<\/p>\n Could Swerve Strickland find a tag partner to take on The Young Bucks? \u00a0Will Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada have their rematch and title unification at All In? What about Gabe Kidd\u2019s role in all this?<\/p>\n Plus, some players could return to proceedings: Eddie Kingston and Jack Perry.
