(SSB)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14470\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14470\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14470\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DWJuoPBWkAEf31w-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14470\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The team of <strong>Fight or Flight<\/strong>, <strong>Gabriel Fuerza<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Vaughn Vertigo<\/strong>, were supposed to be in last years installment of the tournament but had to pull out due to injury.\u00a0 This year they look to show the Smash fans what they missed out on and winning it all would most certainly put them in line for a title shot in the future.\u00a0 The SSB, <strong>Evil Uno<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Stu Grayson<\/strong>, just recently aligned themselves with the new Smash Wrestling Champion <strong>Frankie TM<\/strong>.\u00a0 Along with <strong>Vanessa Kraven<\/strong>, they have created a faction that for the time being is a formidable force to be reckoned with.\u00a0 The SSB are\u00a0already one of the top\u00a0tag teams in Smash Wrestling leaving some to question why they have not already received\u00a0a title opportunity.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Round One Match: Ohio Versus Everybody (OVE) vs. The Kevin Bennett Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14472\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14472\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14472\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DWMSneHXUAEYrNy-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14472\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>To avoid claims of favoritism Smash management representative James Kee allowed <strong>John Greed<\/strong> to pick <strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Kevin Bennett<\/strong> <strong>Experience<\/strong>&#8216;s first-round opponent as Bennett was allowed to select Greed&#8217;s next opponent.\u00a0 Greed chose the well-traveled\u00a0former Impact tag champions OVE, <strong>Dave &amp; Jake Crist<\/strong>, to take on Bennett and his choice of Tank or Muscles.\u00a0 The Kevin Bennett Experience won this tournament last year with the assistance of Frankie TM, but have a very steep hill to climb if they want to advance to the finals and become the first ever consecutive tournament winners and defend their crown.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Round One Match: Sebastian Suave &amp; Tarik vs. The Riotmakers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14468\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14468\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14468\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DVSnmP5WAAAGUX0-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14468\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Suave and Tarik have spent the last several months battling each other in some of the hardest fought matches in recent memory.\u00a0 Their last match ended in a no contest when Suave kicked one of Tarik&#8217;s family members in attendance so hard he came out of his chair as a result.\u00a0 Smash management for some reason thought their\u00a0energy would be better used if they were a team and taking their frustrations with each other out on their opponents.\u00a0 They lost their qualifying match to <strong>Brent Banks<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Tyson Dux<\/strong> but shortly after Dux was issued a thirty-day suspension and pulled from the tournament.\u00a0 This means Suave and Tarik are back in and unfortunately for recent newcomers\u00a0<strong>The Riotmakers<\/strong>, <strong>Holden Albright<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Mark Wheeler<\/strong>, they have to face them in the first round and now must prepare for one of their biggest tests to date.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Round One Match: Kill\/Screen vs. TDT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14467\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14467\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14467\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DVSnmPhW0AA68v8-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14467\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The final match of round one in the tournament pits two previous contenders for the tag titles against each other.\u00a0 The team of <strong>Tabarnak de Team<\/strong>, <strong>Mathieu St-<\/strong><b>Jacques<\/b>\u00a0&amp; <strong>Thomas Dubois<\/strong>, are in some part responsible for tag team momentum in Smash Wrestling.\u00a0 It is one of the reasons they were selected to challenge for the titles and the chance to be the first ever Smash tag team champions.\u00a0 They came ever so close to winning that match at <em><strong>Any Given Sunday 6<\/strong><\/em> in what is already being talked about as a match of the year candidate.\u00a0 The newly formed <strong>Kill\/Screen<\/strong> pairs <strong>Scotty O&#8217;Shea<\/strong> with his new protege <strong>Kevin Blackwood<\/strong>.\u00a0 Both have enjoyed a fair amount of success as singles competitors and were recently given the chance to challenge for the Smash tag titles in London.\u00a0 Both teams are looking to hit hard, advance in the tournament and get a second chance at winning tag team gold.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Vanessa Kraven vs. Xandra Bale<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14469\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14469\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14469\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DVYOJkiXkAEo80D-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14469\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kraven shocked the Smash Wrestling fans when she returned to assist Frankie TM to victory in his Smash championship match at <em>Any Given Sunday 6<\/em>.\u00a0 Her first in-ring action since returning pits her against Bale.\u00a0 Bale&#8217;s last action in Smash was a defeat at the hands of Cheerleader Melissa at the <em><strong>CANUSA Classic<\/strong><\/em> in December.\u00a0 Both women are looking for the win to propel them into the top of the Smash Wrestling Women&#8217;s division.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sami Callihan vs. John Greed<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14471\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14471\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14471\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DWMSneHWAAEtN0t-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14471\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Greed recently returned from a brief hiatus to help out Mark Haskins as he was attacked post-match by the Kevin Bennett experience.\u00a0 Smash Wrestling management then gave Bennett and Greed the chance to pick each other&#8217;s opponents for this event.\u00a0 Enter &#8220;The Callihan Death Machine&#8221;.\u00a0 We last saw Callihan in December where he faced the man who chose him, Bennett.\u00a0 A win for Greed almost certainly put him back into the discussion for a championship opportunity.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Smash Championship: Brent Banks vs. Frankie TM (c)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14466\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14466\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-14466\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/02\/DVDAPsMXkAEwBTg-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14466\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Smash Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Brent Banks originally qualified with Tyson Dux to participate in the tag-team tournament, however following Dux&#8217;s suspension he found himself without a partner.\u00a0 Smash management not wanting to punish Banks for Dux&#8217;s misdeeds instead awarded him with a Smash Heavyweight Championship match.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/01\/24\/rise-beast-king-frankie-tm-new-smash-champion\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Frankie TM won the championship<\/a> at <em>Any Given Sunday<\/em> and finds himself with a stiff opponent for his first title defense.<\/p>\n<p>Smash Wrestling&#8217;s annual F8tful Eight tournament takes place on February 25, 2018, at the Phoenix Concert Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.\u00a0 It is an all ages event and tickets are available now at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smash-wrestling.com\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.smash-wrestling.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Smash Wrestling&#8217;s annual F8ful Eight tag team tournament comes to the Phoenix for the first time on February 25, 2018.\u00a0 With a roster stacked to the brim with amazing tag team talent, we can expect another great event as teams try to distinguish themselves from the others and earn a possible tag team title opportunity.
