Sikoa would get to business, saying that he’ll qualify for the Men’s Money in the Bank Match, cash in at the right time, and bring the world championship back to the family. Fatu and Sikoa would get into a little spat, with Solo saying that he wanted Jacob to explain himself and why their bond had changed since he became the U.S. Champion. Before Jacob Fatu could answer, LA Knight would get physically involved, turning the attention on him.

Next on the docket is the Three-Way Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier between Alexa Bliss, Michin, and Chelsea Green. It was a hectic Triple Threat Match, with Alexa Bliss pulling out the win, being the first woman to qualify for Money in the Bank 2025.

#DIY tests Fraxiom in this dream tag team match on WWE SmackDown tonight. Fraxiom has been absolutely impressive since arriving on the main roster, but this contest tested their ability to hang with some of the best WWE has to offer, and they more than delivered. After withstanding a Fairytale Ending/Superkick combo and Project Ciampa, Fraxiom would pull out another win when Axiom caught Johnny Gargano in a pinning maneuver. #DIY would immediately beat down Fraxiom before MCMG would make the save.

Aleister Black takes on Carmelo Hayes once again, in a rematch from last week that ended in a no-contest after The Miz got involved. Much like last week, Miz has interfered, leading to a disqualification and eating Black Mass for the fourth week in a row. Hayes would capitalize on the situation, hitting the First 48 to make a statement directed to Aleister Black.

Drew McIntyre comes out to air his grievances, saying that he’s going to take out Damian Priest in their Steel Cage Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL once and for all because this is more than personal now.

The Men’s Money in the Bank 2025 Qualifier is next, pitting Rey Fenix, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa. Sikoa dominated the match, and with the help of JC Mateo and Jacob Fatu, ended up winning to qualify for the Men’s Money in the Bank 2025 Ladder Match. Sikoa and his crew would beat down Jimmy and Fenix before LA Knight could make the save. Nick Aldis would sanction a match between Mateo and Knight right then and there, marking JC Mateo’s debut WWE match.

JC Mateo showcased his strength and agility in this match, going to toe-to-toe with LA Knight. Late in the match, Mateo would stumble, giving Knight the opening. However, LA Knight turned his attention to Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa on the outside, delivering a Springboard Crossbody. Upon returning to the ring, JC Mateo was waiting to give him a killer Swinging Powerslam, notching a win in his in-ring WWE debut.

To cap of the WWE SmackDown results for May 16th, 2025, Tiffany Stratton defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Tiffany Stratton went through hell and back in his match. Jax was on the verge of regaining the title from her, with Naomi and Jade Cargill getting involved on the outside. Nia Jax would hit the Annihilator, but Stratton would get to the ropes in time. Jax would walk off with the WWE Women’s Championship, essentially declaring she won the match even though she didn’t. The referee would take the title back, which was Jax’s attempt to distract the official. Jax would grab a chair, attempting to hit Tiffany with it. The champion saw the writing on the wall, dropkicking the foreign object into the face of the “Immovable Object.” A second Prettiest Moonsault ever later, Tiffany Stratton remains WWE Women’s Champion.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the WWE SmackDown results tonight and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
