Like TNA Wrestling announcer Tom Hannifan said on iMPACT!, “If you’d have told the people who founded TNA Wrestling 23 years ago that, one day, the TNA World Champion would compete at WrestleMania, they’d have thought you were absolutely insane.” After competing at the Royal Rumble, Joe Hendry did it, competing against Randy Orton at The Grandest Stage of Them All<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After his historic appearance at WrestleMania and his upcoming Rebellion main event, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry took questions from the international press in a new TNA Press Pass (listen to the whole audio below). Here are the best bits from our time with Joe Hendry.<\/p>\n

The WrestleMania effect<\/h2>\n

“I’ve got phenomenal respect for everyone at WWE for the way that I’ve been treated and the opportunities that I’ve been given. It’s absolutely unbelievable, and I don’t take any of it for granted. I also want to give huge credit to TNA Wrestling management as well for just making this such a great process. I 100% believe we created a situation on Sunday where TNA won, WWE won, Randy and I won with the moment that we had, and the fans won as well. Moving forward, I feel like we’re doing phenomenal business for both companies.<\/p>\n

“I’m very honored to be in this position, and what Triple H said meant a lot to me. It really, really did. To hear what he said, to hear what John Cena said on The Pat McAfee Show, to see Daniel Cormier and CM Punk discussing what happened, and also the private conversations backstage. I had a lot of great private conversations with a lot of people that I respect. You wouldn’t believe how many WWE wrestlers tell me how excited they are about TNA Wrestling.<\/p>\n

“What surprised me is how much I clicked with the top talents backstage that I’ve been working with. I was really surprised and delighted with how many of my suggestions were considered. It just felt like a really collaborative process, which was awesome. I feel very fortunate that I’m in a position where I can contribute to this business, and I’m very excited for what we can do for TNA wrestling because, as I’ve said before, different title reigns mean different things. This title reign is about big business for TNA Wrestling.<\/p>\n

“That’s what we’re going to do now. We’re going to take everything that just happened at WrestleMania and we’re going to get more people through the door than ever before. TNA has been on a historic run, and we’re going to do everything that we can to continue that. TNA is one of the hottest entities in our business, and we’re going to keep it coming.”<\/p>\n
