{"id":134015,"date":"2025-04-19T03:19:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T07:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=134015"},"modified":"2025-04-19T03:22:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T07:22:35","slug":"ecw-legends-help-sabu-win-joey-janela-barbed-wire-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2025\/04\/19\/ecw-legends-help-sabu-win-joey-janela-barbed-wire-match\/","title":{"rendered":"ECW Legends Help Sabu Win Joey Janela Barbed Wire Match"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sabu defeated Joey Janela in a brutal Barbed Wire Rope Match as part of the <a  href=\"https:\/\/gcwthecollective.com\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GCW Collective shows<\/a> on WrestleMania Eve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sabu initially struggled to enter the ring because of the lack of steps at <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2025\/04\/18\/joey-janelas-spring-break-set-to-steal-wrestlemania-weekend\/\" target=\"_self\">Joey Janela\u2019s Spring Break 9<\/a> at the Palm\u2019s Casino, Las Vegas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">When in the ring, things didn\u2019t get much better <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">for Sabu<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Janela dodged Sabu&#8217;s dive from a chair and he went through the barbed wire ring ropes. Alfonso chucked chairs into the ring for Sabu who gladly used them on Janela.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But the \u201cBad Boy\u201d launched Sabu into a board wrapped in barbed wire. Sabu went crashing through it, through the ropes, and hit the concrete floor outside.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Blood poured from the back of Sabu\u2019s head <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the match looked in doubt. Janela put Alfonso through a barbed wire board.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Cogar Brothers interfered and attacked Janela.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Then the lights cut out <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/02\/28\/dark-side-of-the-ring-s5\/\" target=\"_self\"> The Sandman<\/a> appeared with a beer can and kendo stick in hand. He laid in some brutal chair shots. Sabu sent Janela through boards wrapped in barbed wire. He then launched him into the same barbed wire structure at ringside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sabu finally hit his chair leg drop on Janela and picked up the win. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The match was advertised as <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2025\/02\/08\/sabu-retirement-match-wrestlemania-vegas-weekend\/\" target=\"_self\">Sabu&#8217;s final bout<\/a>.
