Thus, they became the first WWE ID prospect(s) to make it out of Evolve and appear on other WWE shows.

We get a video package recapping the event leading up to tonight’s main event between Kali Armstrong and Dani Palmer. To sum up, Dani cost Kali her debut in their tag match together in the first episode by accidentally landing a moonsault on Armstrong, leading to their loss. Kali has been beefing with Palmer since then.

Your hosts for this show are Peter Rosenberg & Robert Stone.

Riley Osborne vs. Javier Bernal

They do a wristlock exchange to start before Osborne sends Javier to the outside. Bernal avoids a moonsault, but Riley gets him back in the ring for a rolling clothesline from the apron. Osborne presses the advantage, but a standing moonsault eats knees.

Javier, with a DDT, starts picking up momentum. A superkick and a butterfly suplex gets a two. A full nelson is reversed into a pin for two by Riley.

Osborne superkicks him in the mouth and goes up for the shooting star press, which is enough for the win (4:33).

After the match, Chuey Martinez gives Javier his jacket back, but Javier refuses to take it and walks away depressed. Haze Jamison is seen in the crowd’s VIP section.

Bryce Donovan vs. Drako Knox

Bryce Donovan finally makes his in-ring debut after being teased as Swipe Right’s bodyguard. He is a tall dude who believes in natural selection, which is why he will evolve alongside this show.

Speaking of which, Swipe Right, Jackson Drake, and Zayda Steel then come out to back up Donovan. They look to jump Knox 4-on-1, but Ice Williams, Jack Cartwheel, and Cappuccino Jones all run in to make the save!

Finally, Evolve GM Stevie Turner came out to settle the scores, announcing an eight-man tag team match between all these guys instead!

Jack Cartwheel, Cappuccino Jones, Ice Williams & Drako Knox vs. Swipe Right (Ricky Smokes & Brad Taylor), Jackson Drake & Bryce Donovan

Drako slaps Jackson right off the bat, taking control immediately with a tight headlock and an arm bar. Cappuccino is tagged in, and this is a more even matchup for Drake. Jones shows off some athleticism, and a dropkick gets two. Smokes tag in and is overwhelmed by Jones as well.

Cartwheel tags in with a slingshot splash for two. Corkscrew moonsault gets two more, but Ricky gets a blind tag to Donovan, who quickly makes quick work of Cartwheel.

Taylor is now in, and he beats Jack down some more. Cartwheel trades chops with Brad, only to get turned 360 degrees with a clothesline. All hell is breaking loose as Cappuccino gives a shot of coffee to Cartwheel, who is immediately rejuvenated and takes out all the heels with a dive outside. We then take a short break.

Back to the action, our fan favorites are now in control. Ice Williams slingshot in with a leg drop for two on Smokes. The bad guys get the advantage again with a cheap shot behind the ref’s back, putting Ice in peril.

Drake plants him with a huge powerbomb for two. Williams continues to get beaten up to a pulp, but he finds an opening with a clothesline on Smokes, and it’s a hot tag to Knox!

Drako runs wild on Drake, and a running powerslam gets two. We get some more chaos, highlighted by Drako taking down Donovan with a big boot.

Zayda Steel distracts the referee while Swipe Right gets a double-team powerbomb for a near fall. Everyone takes turns hitting moves on opposing team members, as the referee has completely lost all control of the bout. In the end, Jack misses a shooting star, allowing Bryce to tag himself in and hit Cartwheel with the Black Hole Slam for the victory (14:52).

Post-match, the winners get interviewed and mock reporter Chuey Martinez for his bad smell. This prompts Sean Legacy to come out, but he is unexpectedly accompanied by Timothy Thatcher! We move on with referees coming out to de-escalate the situation.

In the VIP lounge: Chantel Monroe.

Dani Palmer vs. Kali Armstrong

Kali is a 3x NCAA All-American in track and field and holds a world record in the sprint medley relay, while Dani is a former acrobatics and tumbling athlete for Baylor University and also a 3x NCAA National Champion, but in acrobatics and tumbling. They lock up to start, with Kali having the upper hand due to her strength advantage.

Dani uses her acrobatics and matwork to ground Armstrong, but Kali tackles her to the outside. Palmer slingshot back in and tosses Kali out instead. Dani then goes up for the moonsault, only for Kali to bring her down with an overhead suplex.

Armstrong now reigns control, taking some time to talk trash to the camera before we head to commercials. We come back with Palmer hitting a running crossbody, and both girls are down.

They slug it out as they get up, and it’s Dani who is now fired up. She runs wild for a while, coming off the middle rope with a double knee for two. Kali catches her with a powerslam for two.

Palmer goes up again, and Kali tries to send her down, but this time, Dani blocks it. A frog splash finds no water, however. Kali then runs the ropes for the Pounce, otherwise known as “Kali Connection”, to pick up the win (8:02).

Kali gets a post-match promo afterward. She calls out every single female in the locker room and says she will become Evolve’s first-ever women’s champion. We see cameos from Chantel Monroe, Kendal Grey, and Brinley Reece as they react to Kali’s words from ringside before the show heads off the air.

Final Thoughts

WWE Evolve is finally looking like a genuine wrestling television program, and I couldn’t be happier for them. They planted some seeds for the new championships that will come to Evolve, and I thought they did a solid job at it. In addition, we got a huge eight-man tag this week that went over 15 minutes, stealing the show with non-stop, fast-paced action.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WWE Evolve and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
