Having been a pillar of Japanese wrestling excellence for more than two decades, this promises to be quite an emotional match. Despite being in the twilight of his career, Tanahashi is not to be taken lightly by Takeshita.

At this point in Tanahashi’s retirement tour, every match and moment is layered with legacy and sentiments. With this match, ‘The Ace’ is fighting to remind the world of his enduring spirit, and the greatest proof of that would be the NEVER Openweight Championship. Takeshita, having unwavering momentum backing him, will not be willing to let go of the title easily.

Gabe Kidd and Tomohiro Ishii’s 30-Minute Banger

Gabe Kidd will defend the STRONG Openweight Championship against Tomohiro Ishii in a 30-minute Iron Man match. This is a rematch built on brutality and unfinished business following their first encounter at Battle in the Valley. That match ended with a no-decision after 30 long minutes but, this time, they have multiple falls and a potential sudden death to push them to their absolute limits.

For Kidd, this match offers a break from the Bullet Club chaos – but not from violence. For ‘The Stone Pitbull’, this is a chance to once again put his strong style on full display. With pride, gold, and vindication on the line, this Iron Man match could prove who embodies NJPW STRONG the most.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – NJPW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on NJPW Windy City Riot and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
