Exciting and intriguing new storylines, character developments, and contests to satisfy fans on Saturday and then the following weeks. Three matches have been announced at the time of writing. Each has its unique potential. Each has an opportunity to do something interesting for each man involved before, during, and post-bell.

Like in prior weeks, the increasing and last-minute announcements will excite, surprise, and get us fantasy booking. We’re surely going to learn more about key developments. Maybe hear from those victors who missed Wednesday because they were banged up.

Collision is more than a place for great wrestling. Great angles, video packages, and moments have one of at least four other signs of AEW’s creative turnaround that I’ve analyzed here.

Enough power of three. Conversely, FTR cost themselves by making the referee restart their tag team match against The Undisputed Kingdom.

Those details, combined with the tenacity The Undisputed Kingdom brought after the match restarted, set high expectations for the sequel. Two victories over one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history might set the Undisputed Kingdom up for an AEW tag team championship match. It might also push FTR over the edge towards a revamp and a heel turn some fans have been hoping for.

Or maybe the series gets drawn. Or history from last time repeats itself but is somehow flipped. The outcome and follow-up are just as intriguing as the match. This feud could be especially interesting considering how this feud could interlink with Adam Cole’s desire for a rematch with FTR’s partner and friend, TNT Champion Daniel Garcia.

Somehow, I don’t think this ends with a neat bow on Saturday.

International Championship Eliminator Matches

Sprung on us prior to Dynamite, the announcement of the Dynasty International Championship Eliminator Series brings back one of AEW’s strongest tropes. For a full breakdown of the tournament brackets and speculation, check out this article. Saturday, we get the battle of the Marks and The Wrestler vs. a man out of this world.

Mark Davies vs. Mark Briscoe is going to be a hard-hitting affair. After Davies’s excellent singles showing against former stablemate Will Ospreay, Briscoe is going to be sore.

If the Australian hoss gets his way, he’s going to flatten the chicken farmer and then reverse over him to make sure he stands down. But as ROH and AEW fans know, Briscoe isn’t no dumb chicken despite aesthetics.

Red Neck Kung-fu, resilience, and pure raw determination are going to make Briscoe nearly impossible to put down.

Ricochet vs. Shibata is going to be physical. Who doesn’t want to see Ricochet get his chest and bald head kicked in? The story of this match is about Ricochet. Will he be able to come back after his loss to Swerve Strickland?

Ricochet has become one of the most interesting characters in AEW. Whether it’s a surprise loss or a clear win, plenty of us want to know if Ricochet can maintain this momentum and character work.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on AEW Dynamite and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
