Fewer and fewer matches and segments seem to be revealed each week.

Perhaps in part because the consistent quality of weekly programming has been high. Plus, each week, usually on the day of the show, something big is revealed. Last week, it was the main-event tag match pitting Swerve Strickland and Brody King against Ricochet and Kazuchika Okada.

Faith is being restored, slowly. Prior to Revolution, I explained 5 other signs of how AEW creative is turning a corner.

Yet, we have been here before. This time last year, in fact, and maybe it’s recency bias that makes us feel that this time it will hold.

AEW Revolution was notable and impactful for various reasons. The first show post-PPV normally serves as a table-setter for the next cycle.

The main event for Dynasty awaits a graphic drop. For the AEW World Championship, Jon Moxley vs. Swerve Strickland.

Regardless, two big post-PPV match talking segments have been announced. Featuring one of Revolution’s biggest winners and its first loser, this preview is going to be more speculative in nature. But then again, that’s kind of AEW at its best.

Gets us thinking and fantasy booking what’s next. Do it one more time.

AEW Dynamite Announced Card:

We’ll hear from MJF.

We’ll hear from new AEW International champion, Kenny Omega Live!

We’ll Hear from Double Feature

Each week on the microphone, we’ve seen the rehabilitation of the devil. MJF once again feels like the scumbag and excrement disturber fans fell in love with. It took time.

In retrospect, I think history will be kind to MJF’s world championship run. Yet, in 2024, MJF was an inconsistent character.

After losing to Page, is this war over? Is MJF willing to let go? Or perhaps does MJF come back for a second swing?

This time or in the coming weeks with a plan.

With Dynasty on the horizon, is it time for MJF to bring back his own Dynasty? For fans who missed out on the awesomeness that was MJF in MLW, the Salt of the Earth was part of perhaps the greatest stable you have never heard of, The Dynasty.

The team of rich, smug, entitled, and near-perfect athletes included MJF, Richard Holliday, and the recent free agent Alex Hammerstone. Hammerstone dropped a photo on social media of the trio after Revolution. It could be for buzz, but a fan like me can dream!

Kenny Omega once again has singles gold. AEW has learned from their mistakes after Omega’s last return from injury. This version of Omega is about reclaiming his position as best in the world.

But for Ospreay also, is everything over with The Don Callis Family? Perhaps not.

Ospreay might be done with Fletcher, but what about Konosuke Takeshita, who defeated him for the International Championship? It, in part, perhaps depends on plans for Anarchy in the Arena and Blood and Guts this year.

What’s Next? Speculation

After stomping Jon Moxley to send the crowd home happy, the build for Swerve Strickland vs. Jon Moxley will begin. How dangerous will Strickland be?

With Christian Cage coming between Cope’s chance at the AEW World Championship, their rivalry is going to pick up again.

After The Hollywood Ending, surely there will be final words from “Timeless” Toni Storm. Perhaps a look at who is going to step up next for a title shot.

Similarly for Mercedes Mone, Billy Starkz has been watching. Will her intentions become clear? Will Athena return to Dynamite?

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – AEW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on AEW Dynamite and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
