We are just a few weeks from MLW’s signature event, Battle Riot VII, which will air live on Saturday, April 5, at Commerce Casino & Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. Before entering the 40-man match, every wrestler wants the spotlight and ensures MLW World Champion Matt Riddle knows his title reign is in danger.

MLW Intimidation Games emanated from the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. So, after smashing them in the ring and asking them up, Kwon expected them to ask each other how well they can trust each other with a Championship in the middle. Krule added he had the key to the castle, the Gravity Gamble briefcase, and very soon, he will take his place upon the throne of MLW.

Shigeo Okumura vs Ariel Dominguez

“One of a Trillion” Ariel Dominguez was facing one half of the MLW World Tag Team Championship, Okamura, a Japanese wrestling veteran competing for CMLL. Okumura and Satoshi Kojima recently defended the titles in Japan as part of the NJPW Presents CMLL Fantastica Mania 2025 tour.

Okumura attacked with kicks and clotheslines, and Dominguez followed with some amateur wrestling counters. They exchanged kicks and elbows before Dominguez cut Okumura off with a missile dropkick and a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Dominguez hit a top-rope crossbody but Okumura replied with a second-rope DDT.

Dominguez went for a sleeper hold. Okumura didn’t faint and hit a vicious running bulldog from the top rope. He followed with his Cozy Cutter for the win.

First Blood Tag Team Match – Bomaye Fight Club (Alex Kane & Mr. Thomas) vs The Andersons (Brock Anderson & CW Anderson)

Before the match, we saw The Andersons and Bobby Fish talking about their upcoming match and asking themselves if they had news from Brett Ryan Gosselin. BRG suddenly appeared and gave each member a Four-Horsemen-style motivation speech.

After a Battle Riot vignette, The Andersons made their way to the ring with a baseball bat in hand, but Kane and Thomas attacked them from behind before they even reached the ring. There was a big brawl in the ring as the bell rang. Stereo clotheslines from Bomaye were followed by stereo spinebusters from The Andersons.

CW removed a ringpost pad while Brock was taking care of Mr. Thomas. They ended up outside, where Brock ate a barrier. The two disappeared into the rafters.

In the ring, CW hit Kane with the baseball bat, then bit him in the face. Meanwhile, Mr. Thomas jumped from the rafters on Brock and CW, who were at ringside. Faye Jackson arrived and unloaded clotheslines on CW.

Back in the ring, some chairs appeared as CW and Kane were still brawling. Outside, Brock sent Thomas into a barrier. Kane sent CW into the exposed ringpost and hit a belly-to-belly and a frog splash. Brock cut off Kane, but Thomas entered the ring and unloaded splashes on both men.

Brock stopped him with a low blow, the legendary NutCracker, and the Anderson DDT. Faye Jackson pulled Thomas out of the ring as Kane was taking care of The Andersons. CW replied with a superkick, set a chair in a ring corner, put Kane on the top rope but the superkick attempt was cut short.

Kane took the chair and sent it right on CW’s face. He then hit CW’s face on the exposed corner multiple times.

Thomas came back in the ring and blood started to spill from CW’s head. Kane and Mr.Thomas proudly showed off their hands stained with blood to the camera.

MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title Match – Delmi Exo (c) vs Tara Zep

Zep was escorted to the ring by Atlas security, handcuffs removed. Exo and Zeop exchanged blows but Exo seemed to be in fear in front of her opponent. Zep unloaded shots and a double-knee drop on Exo wrapped around the second rope.

They exchanged blows again until Zep hit Exo with a Fisherman’s suplex. A knee to the face followed, as well as a choke attempt.

Exo found her way back to the match with corner attacks and a cross-leg suplex. The Delmi Driver gave her the win. The God Queen of Featherweights prevailed.

MLW National Openweight Title Four Way Match – Matthew Justice (c) vs The Psycho Samourai AKIRA vs The Professor Bobby Fish (w/BRG) vs Paul Walter Hauser

After another Battle Riot promo, BRG joined Dombrowski and Cole at the announcers’ table. Fish attacked Hauser, but Justice and AKIRA attacked Fish in return. They kept taking care of Fish with corner attacks until they sent Fish into Hauser’s elbow.

BRG complained that the match was turning into a 3-on-1 match. AKIRA proved him wrong when he attacked Hauser and Justice. They exchanged clotheslines and punches.

The action went outside. AKIRA ate a barrier multiple times, thanks to Justice, and Hauser unloaded shots on Fish.

Here came the tables, but Justice ate a barrier before he could send AKIRA into it. AKIRA hit a crossbody above the barrier on Justice. Fish brought Hauser in the ring and unloaded kicks and a sliding forearm.

AKIRA stopped Fish, but Justice made his way back to the ring to eat a beautiful Tornado DDT from AKIRA, followed by a Pelé Kick (in France, we say Papinade). Justice cut him off with a hell of a Spear.

Fish and Hauser fought on the ring apron, while Justice and AKIRA chose another side of the apron. Justice sent AKIRA through the table with a Fireman’s carry. Hauser grabbed a bag of thumbtacks and spilled them on the other table.

He tried to send Fish into the table full of tacks, but BRG interfered, and Hauser felt the pain. BRG tried to bring Hauser back in the ring and gave a table to Fish. Fish set it in a corner, but a patient Justice Speared him through it for the win.

After the match, Justice grabbed a mic and said Hauser is the man because he honors and respects pro wrestling. Hauser said Justice makes the belt look amazing. BRG asked them to shut up and said Justice doesn’t deserve the belt.

BRG continued to trash-talk to Hauser and Justice, to the point security had to separate them. Security guys were, in fact, Rogue Horsemen friends.

CW, Brock, Fish and the Rogue buddies attacked Hauser, AKIRA and Justice. Tables and chairs appeared and AKIRA had the pleasure to eat one.

House of Duran Announcement – Eric Bischoff – Dijak

Another Battle Riot promo after, Cesar Duran, Salina de la Renta, Jesus Rodriguez, and D’Oro came to the ramp to say they found some news that could save MLW from Eric Bischoff. Court Bauer listened to him and named him the President of MLW. Salina talked badly to her father. D’Oro proposed to her, and she said yes, and Cesar Duran fainted.

A proud Alex Kane told Eric Bischoff the news and locked him. Bischoff tried to call Court Bauer to lock him out and find answers, but he was too busy to answer him.

Dijak said Tom Lawlor disrespected him and Mister Saint-Laurent by breaking MSL’s arm. He vowed to win the MLW World Championship at Battle Riot.

KUSHIDA vs Neon

The match began with some fast-paced counters, armbars, and locks. Neon finally hit headscissors but missed a suicide dive. They fought outside the ring and KUSHIDA locked in the Juji Gatame.

The referee stopped him and KUSHIDA continued to work Neon’s left shoulder with submission moves. Neon countered him but quickly lost control again. He finally cut him off with a reverse DDT, and Neon was in a lot of pain.

KUSHIDA unloaded kicks and big right hands. Neon countered, hit a standing enzuigiri, climbed to the top rope, and hit a reverse springboard over the top rope to the floor.

Neon asked for the audience’s support, brought KUSHIDA back to the ring, and connected with a moonsault and a missile dropkick, both from the top rope. He locked KUSHIDA into a submission hold, but he reached the ropes.

KUSHIDA connected with kicks and locked Neon in the Juji Gatame again. Neon countered with a spinning heel kick. He climbed to the top rope again, but KUSHIDA followed him with an enzuigiri and a hurricanrana from the top rope.

KUSHIDA hit the Back to the Future for the win. He shook his opponent’s hand after saying he was finally back to MLW and would be a part of the Battle Riot match.

After some Bros’ gifts (what a painting…), a reminder of Eric Bischoff being fired by MLW’s new President, and another Battle Riot promo, Neon was told by the Sky Team that losing is learning and they want him in their team.

Contra Unit (Ikuro Kwon & Mads Krule Krügger) vs. The Filthy Bros (Matt Riddle & Tom Lawlor)

Kwon and Krule attacked the Bros as they were making their way to the ring. They brawled on the ramp, in the rafters, around the ring, with Krule taking care of Lawlor and Riddle of Kwon. Kwon even bit Riddle’s foot.

Kwon smashed a cup on Riddle’s head. “It’s just anarchy all over the Center Stage,” Joe Dombrowski rightfully said.

Filthy Bros took advantage before coming back to the ringside. Krule unloaded chops on Riddle and Lawlor (they are breathing way better now).

The bell finally rang. Riddle unloaded suplexes on Kwon, Lawlor hit a clothesline, and they worked to send Krule outside. Kwon felt the pain with stereo ankle locks but grabbed the ropes.

Lawlor unloaded shots to the face in the corner, Kwon replied with a codebreaker and a standing enzuigiri. He tagged Krule in. Lawlor ate chops before Kwon was tagged back.

Contra Unit continued to work on Lawlor, preventing him from tagging Riddle. Kwon made him eat kicks and punches, and Krule worked on Lawlor’s left leg.

After long minutes of pain, Lawlor locked Kwon in a Figure-Four and tried to tag in Riddle. Krule took care of Riddle at ringside while Kwon was non-stop on Lawlor with kicks and some more leg destruction.

Krule hit a 7-foot brainbuster, and Lawlor went for a guillotine on Kwon but turned it into a DDT. Kwon tagged in Krule as Riddle was finally tagged in. He unloaded knees and forearms on Kwon, continued with an Exploder suplex and a Broton.

Krule ate some knees and forearms but grabbed the referee to protect himself. Kwon misted the referee instead of Riddle. Riddle hit the Bro to Sleep, but Krule hit a nasty chokeslam.

Suddenly, the ring was filled with Kojima, Dijak, Bomaye, The Horsemen, AKIRA, KUSHIDA, and Matthew Justice… A prelude to a huge Battle Riot match.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – MLW – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
