Over the past three years, Tony D\u2019Angelo and his stable, the Family, have been a mainstay on NXT programming. Even though there\u2019s been constant member changes, one man has been by D\u2019Angelo\u2019s side the whole time. Channing \u201cStacks\u201d Lorenzo has been the Underboss for years now.<\/p>\n
However, since they started a feud with Shawn Spears\u2019 group, there has been tension between them. On the March 4, 2025 episode of NXT, both groups brawled as D\u2019Angelo and Spears had their North American Championship match<\/a>.<\/p>\n As D\u2019Angelo was on the outside, Spears pushed Stacks into him, causing him to fall backward onto a chair. He got up, but the pain was too much as Spears pinned him, making him lose the championship.<\/p>\n He didn\u2019t see Spears, so he\u2019s going to pin it on Stacks. As much as people don\u2019t want them to break up, it\u2019s the right move for both of them.<\/p>\n With Stand & Deliver next month, the PPV is the final goodbye for several wrestlers. Every year, a handful of them get called up to the main roster. With D\u2019Angelo, he\u2019s at a booking crossroads.<\/p>\n Does he get called up, since his years in NXT produced several championships? That would be an easy question to answer if not for a gap in his resume. His only NXT Championship match was against Ilja Dragunov at last year\u2019s Stand & Deliver, which he lost.<\/p>\n However, he has had several run-ins already with Oba Femi, who is very familiar with The Family. Having D\u2019Angelo compete for the top title on his own would be a great redemption story.<\/p>\n After all, in his eyes, Stacks caused him to lose the North American Championship. Setting his sights on Femi without The Family could help him win the top prize in NXT.<\/p>\n The great thing about Stacks is that he is always there for D\u2019Angelo and The Family. He\u2019ll fight anyone to protect each of them. However, the bad thing about factions is that you are associated with the other members as long as you are in one.<\/p>\n The Underboss title pretty much makes him lower than D\u2019Angelo. He\u2019s always doing his bidding, not getting a chance to do things for himself. The past couple of months have shown that he is getting tired of his position.<\/p>\n With a fiery conflict imminent, this is the best way for Stacks to be his own man. Splitting off from the Don means that he can do whatever he wants.<\/p>\n With Stand & Deliver right around the corner, he could challenge D\u2019Angelo to a match. Winning could potentially kickstart a singles run that doesn\u2019t involve him in any way.<\/p>\n The only thing that is certain is that there\u2019s bound to be fireworks after Roadblock next week. D\u2019Angelo will be angry due to losing his title. Stacks has shown his displeasure for months now, obviously wanting more than just a lackey role.<\/p>\n Splitting them up now is the best way for them both to move their careers forward. They both have a lot of options in front of them. D\u2019Angelo can challenge Stacks at Stand & Deliver.<\/p>\n However, he could set his sights on Oba Femi\u2019s NXT Championship instead. Stacks could finally get a proper singles run as well. However, he could take over as the Don with Luca Crusifino and Adriana Rizzo by his side.
