It is an arrow in their quiver that is busted out when they need to heighten the stakes of a particular feud or to put more butts in the seats. It generates excitement from the crowd, and we know we are almost guaranteed to see some crazy spots from the wrestlers involved.

The Elimination Chamber is one of those gimmick matches that promise at least a few insane spots. There are plenty of areas where wrestlers can leap from or drop their opponent onto. It is a huge selling point of the match, and throughout history, some insane spots have taken place within the confines of the Elimination Chamber. Below is a list of some of those spots.

RVD Leaps From The Heavens and Destroys Triple H’s Throat – WWE Survivor Series 2002

This is a two-fold spot that comes from the very first Elimination Chamber. It was a spot that looked very impressive but becomes legendary when we look at the full aftermath of the move.

Rob Van Dam was known for his extreme style. He would leap from the highest of highs, and the chamber would give him the perfect arena for this. RVD’s five-star frog splash from the top of the chamber pod was an awe-inspiring maneuver. It was exactly what one would expect from RVD, and it was a highlight of the match.

Also, the spot becomes crazier when we consider that RVD overshot the place, and his leg landed across Triple H’s throat, injuring the champ. It was information that added another layer of danger to the move and makes it a talked about spot to this day.

Goldberg and Chris Jericho Break The Glass Down – WWE SummerSlam 2003

The Plexi-Glass partitions that separate the wrestlers were begging for a spot. The easiest one, of course, is propelling your opponent through the glass. It is a spot that has been done in just about every chamber match, but none hold a candle to the impressive sight that took place between Chris Jericho and Goldberg at SummerSlam.

Goldberg’s spear was famous for being one of the best. The amount of force he put behind it was incredible, and it was enough to send Chris Jericho and himself straight through the glass, dislodging the panel from the pod. It was devastating and sold the impact that Goldberg’s spear could have. Jericho sold it like the champ he is, and it was the best moment out of a chamber match that was short on them.

John Morrison Does His Best Spiderman Impression – WWE Elimination Chamber 2011

John Morrison is a human highlight reel. Throughout his WWE career, he has been responsible for some of the most impressive spots. Specifically, we can look at his streak of amazing Royal Rumble saves as great examples of how talented and creative he was with his character.

Morrison was also one to showcase his talent for great spots when he stepped into the Elimination Chamber in 2011. The roster of wrestlers was deep in this match, so the chances of Morrison taking home the victory were slim, but that didn’t stop him from producing one of the highlights of the night.

As the ring was filling with combatants, Morrison scaled the inner chamber, advancing to the top of the structure. That alone was impressive, but as he hung from the top, he dropped onto the pile of wrestlers waiting below. It was a spot unlike anyone had seen before and one that only a few men could have pulled off.

The Deadman Walks Through The Fires Of Hell – WWE Elimination Chamber 2010

The Undertaker has always had one of the most visually impressive entrances. The arena bathed in an eerie purple glow while the smoke billows in enough to have goosebumps appearing on even the most courageous.

The flames that accompany him on stage are also very impressive, but they are the catalyst for one of the scariest spots to have taken place at the Elimination Chamber. Yes, it’s not technically a spot, but it’s infamous and just as crazy as any that have taken place.

As ‘Taker was making his way to the ring, the pyro guy mistimed the flames that followed the dead man. This caused The Undertaker to be doused in fire in a very scary moment.

He broke character and made his way quickly to the ring where he continued to bathe himself in water to counteract the burns. It was a terrifying moment that showed the toughness of the Undertaker and the unpredictability of WWE programming.

Brock Lesnar Nearly Kills Austin Theory – WWE Elimination Chamber 2022

Brock Lesnar has always been one to bring intensity to the ring. The Beast doesn’t hold back with every move he uses, which is designed to inflict the maximum amount of damage. We can see this fully in his final move, the F-5. A move that doesn’t need any more umpf to make the impact worse, but it sure does help.

In Saudi Arabia, the Elimination Chamber match boiled down to Austin Theory and Brock Lesnar. Theory, realizing he was in it deep, tried his best to escape the clutches of the Beast. He scampered all over the ring, making his way to the top of the pod. However, Lesnar was hot on his tail and took the fight to Theory.

He beat Austin down and then did the unthinkable as he lifted him and performed, perhaps, the most devastating F-5 in company history.

Theory spun off Lesnar’s shoulder and fell to the steel grating below, landing like a sack of potatoes. The distance alone was scary, but the sound from which Theory hit the steel was sickening. It was not surprising that many thought Austin Theory might not be able to recover from that spot.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on Elimination Chamber and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
