It was a fun time for everyone and, now that it’s over, the Road to WrestleMania 41 can begin.

Coming out of the Royal Rumble, we have many answers but we also have just as many questions. The WrestleMania 41 card is starting to take shape but there are still many question marks as to who will match up against whom. With a few months to go, it should be fun to take a stab at predicting what matches we will see in Las Vegas.

Gunther vs Jey Uso (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

We can start with the easiest prediction to make, mainly because the ink is still wet on the contract between these two men. Jey Uso winning the Royal Rumble was a huge shock but a welcome one.

He is the workhorse of WWE, and this is a great reward for his years of dedication and hard work. With the massive support he receives, now is the time to get the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist.

Gunther and Jey Uso have already demonstrated great chemistry and will be able to put on a fantastic match at WrestleMania 41. Also, with Gunther’s natural ability to be the best possible heel, the reaction of Uso going over the Ring General will be deafening.

Cody Rhodes vs John Cena (Undisputed WWE Championship Match)

John Cena was the man that many predicted would triumph at the Royal Rumble, only to fall heartbreakingly short of his goal. He is on his retirement tour and needs to have a big match at his last WrestleMania. The biggest match possible would be Cena trying to break Ric Flair’s World Championship record and capture his 17th.

Cena and Cody Rhodes would make an interesting story, as it would be a babyface-on-babyface program. One would imagine Rhodes would show some heel-leaning, considering this is Cena’s swan song.

Similar work styles would make for a more cerebral match but that can be compensated for by a dynamite lead-up. Plus, it’s Cena’s last WrestleMania. He needs this main event, and WWE should give it to him.

Tiffy Straton vs Charlotte Flair (WWE Women’s Championship)

Charlotte Flair winning the Royal Rumble was a finish that just about everyone saw coming, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. She is a polarizing figure but she gets the reactions and is money in the ring. She was the right choice to win, and she is the right choice to challenge Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania.

Stratton and Flair would be a great program to lead into WrestleMania. Stratton is on the verge of becoming a huge star and this feud needs to happen.

Flair is the measuring stick for the women’s division, and Stratton being in the same program as her is going to help her tremendously. It’s a fresh matchup that could be used as a changing-of-the-guard situation to send Stratton into the stratosphere.

Rhea Ripley vs Alexa Bliss (Women’s World Championship Match)

Alexa Bliss has the return of the night at the Royal Rumble. Lucas Oil Field popped hard for Little Miss Bliss. We had all missed the Five Feet of Fury and were more excited to hear of her signing a new contract. Bliss is going to be around for a while, and WWE needs to strike while the iron is hot and have her go after the Women’s World Championship.

Rhea Ripley has taken down most of the big names on the roster. She has been at the top for a while now and needs a new challenger. That’s where Alexa Bliss would fit in perfectly.

They could work a great match with their contrasting styles. Plus, the darkness of both characters could provide for some interesting moments along the way.

CM Punk vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

This is probably not the match that many wanted but it should be one that will be one of the best in WrestleMania history. After their drama exploded at the Royal Rumble, it looks like WWE is going to move forward with the three men going to battle on the Grandest Stage. It will be a meeting of the three biggest stars of an era that will be a very fitting contest for WrestleMania.

The seething hatred shared by all three men will do most of the heavy lifting as they march towards WrestleMania. Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns have not been shy about their disdain for one another, going so far as to ruin their chances of main eventing WrestleMania.

Their professional and personal jealousy will drive their feud and add that little extra something when they climb into the ring together. Look for this to be heralded as the best triple threat in WrestleMania history.

Bron Breakker vs Sheamus (Intercontinental Championship)

This match has nearly run its course but, with a bit more drama behind the build, WWE can make it a very memorable Intercontinental Championship match. Bron Breakker and Sheamus have been working together for a few months now, with Breakker always getting the best of the Celtic Warrior. It would make sense to give someone else a shot but now is not the time to throw together a program that would have no heart to it.

Sheamus is one championship away from completing the career grand slam. Something that he has mentioned numerous times, and something that has been consuming him. The Intercontinental Championship is a title that he needs to win, and Breakker is the only one standing in his way.

Breakker could easily say no to Sheamus but a stipulation, say Sheamus putting his career on the line, would be the perfect way to sell the match. It would add so much drama and make the finish a great one regardless of what happens.

Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest

The Royal Rumble is the place where WrestleMania feuds are born. One wrestler dousing the flames of another’s main event dreams is always enough to get a bitter feud started and to keep it going into WrestleMania. The biggest of these eliminations this year was the drama between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre.

Botch or not, this elimination looks to be setting up an eventual WrestleMania showdown between the two men. They are the odd men out of the main event picture, and they could do a whole lot worse than taking each other on. It will still have a big fight feel to it with two former world champions going at it.

They also have fought each other as recently as last summer. It was a great World Heavyweight Championship match that they could, for sure, build on heading into their WrestleMania blow-off.

WrestleMania 41 Multi-Man Matches Featuring Both Brands Tag Straps

WrestleMania is going to be the time of year when WWE tries to cram as many talents on the show as possible, and multi-man matches are the best way to do it. As of now, the tag team championship scene is rife with teams that have laid claim to the championships.

There is not one huge one-on-one program that is being built so why not throw them all in on the Grandest Stage? A four-way match would be great but, let’s be honest, putting a ladder in the ring for multiple teams to climb would be best, and give more talent a chance to showcase their abilities.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu (United States Championship Match)

Nothing is indicating that WWE is going to head in this direction for WrestleMania 41 but wouldn’t it be a ton of fun to watch? WWE hasn’t done much with the United States Championship since Nakamura won it. Not being featured on programming is hurting the allure of the strap but this would be a great way to bring it back.

Shinsuke has developed a great edge to his character that would play well with the cockiness of LA Knight and the downright insane nature of Jacob Fatu. All three have different styles of working, and it would be fun to see what kind of match they could come up with.

Also, Jacob Fatu is going to be a star. WWE needs to keep him away from a match with a ton of wrestlers. WrestleMania could be the night he establishes himself as a force, and winning the United States Championship would be the best way to do this.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WrestleMania 41 and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
