Prior to Dux, Smash&#8217;s top title had previously been held by such indie stars as Americans <strong>Johnny Gargano, Alex Shelley<\/strong> and <strong>Matt Cross<\/strong>, and UK&#8217;s <strong>Mark Haskins<\/strong>. For 436 days, Dux defended the title against all comers, turning back attempts from such international competition as <strong>Jay White, Colt Cabana, Jimmy Havoc, Petey Williams, Joe Hendry<\/strong>, and <strong>OvE<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Jake Crist<\/strong>. But this past Sunday, Dux finally met his match in Smash&#8217;s resident &#8220;Beast King&#8221; <strong>Franky TM<\/strong>, aka Franky The Mobster, a 21-year veteran of the indies whose finally found his inner beast and <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/01\/22\/smash-wrestling-crowns-new-champions\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">captured the Smash Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12984\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12984\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12984\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/01\/DNazvhNW4AEbCEG-e1516815948429.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12984\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Hrycych Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Franky TM debuted in 1997 with Quebec&#8217;s <strong>Northern Championship Wrestling (nCw)<\/strong> and it wasn&#8217;t soon before he branched out to other Quebec promotions, such as <strong>International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS), Federation Canadienne de Lutte (FCL),<\/strong> and <strong>Federation de Lutte Quebecoise\u00a0(FLQ)<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0Ron Hutchinson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Apocalypse Wrestling Federation (AWF)<\/strong> in Toronto. But it\u00a0was nCw he called home, working primarily with them\u00a0until 2009, as a 3x nCw Quebec Champion, 2x nCw Inter-Cities Champion, and a\u00a04x nCw\u00a0Tag Team Champion with <strong>Raiden<\/strong> as part of\u00a0<strong>La Cosa Nostra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NCW R\u00e9tro - 2 juin 2012 - Mobster 357 vs Franky the Mobster\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UiwgCoN5Qm0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2005, Franky moved to <strong>Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW)<\/strong> in the US and became the CZW Iron Man Champion, holding the title for 189 days. During his time, he got into several wars with another emerging French-Canadian star named <strong>Kevin Steen<\/strong> (now Kevin Owens in the WWE), resulting in Kevin Steen defeating Franky for the title.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kevin Steen(Owens) Vs. On the road to <em>Death Before Dishonor<\/em>, he event took the fight to <strong>Chris Hero<\/strong> (now Kassius Ohno in NXT).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chris Hero Vs. From the Quebec indies, to CZW, and on to Ottawa&#8217;s <strong>C*4<\/strong> promotion, Steen and Franky went to war with and against each other. Franky is actually the godfather of Steen&#8217;s son, Owen.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TDT vs Kevin Steen &amp; Franky The Mobster\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aC1nvh0L2Dg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Franky made his Smash debut in late\u00a02015, defeating a young <strong>Dalton Castle<\/strong> at <em><strong>Something Different<\/strong><\/em>, before making his presence known in the past two years, including victories over Joe Hendry, <strong>Candice LeRae, TARIK<\/strong>, and many others until he finally entered the Smash Championship scene in late 2017.\u00a0He was also a Canadian participant in <strong>WCPW<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>World Cup of Pro Wrestling<\/strong> last summer, facing <strong>Davey Boy Smith Jr<\/strong>. in the Qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Harry Smith vs Franky TM (Pro Wrestling World Cup Canada - 1st Round)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dh0BZcONdEI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At <em><strong>Any Given Sunday 6<\/strong><\/em>, this past Sunday January 21, Franky TM, &#8220;The Beast King&#8221; of Smash Wrestling, finally found his crown and court &#8211; not only did he win the Smash Championship, but he built himself a stable that includes former PWG World Tag Team Champions <strong>Super Smash Bros<\/strong> (<strong>Evil Uno &amp; Stu Grayson<\/strong>) and former <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong> Tag Team Champion <strong>Vanessa Kraven<\/strong>.
