WWE Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event was always a highlight of the Golden Era. It included the biggest stars, the best matches, and some of the biggest celebrities of the era. It was a welcome event that always got the fans excited.<\/p>\n
It has been nearly two decades since the show has been around. WWE will need to pull out all the stops to make sure that this event sticks around and has the chance to entertain a new generation of fans.<\/p>\n
So far, they have done a great job of building anticipation for the show and giving us all a reason to tune in. Here are five reasons why Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event should be on your television on December 14th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n For those of us of a certain age, the announcement of Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event returning was great news. It was a mainstay of our childhoods and one of the few shows that could be watched on cable television. It included all the big names of the day and some of the biggest celebrities of the time.<\/p>\n For nostalgic purposes alone the show will be worth a watch. It had a unique visual style to it with the white ropes and neon signs adorning the arena. Seeing this style return on Saturday is worth the watch by itself.<\/p>\n It has been announced that Jesse Ventura will be making his awaited return to the announcement desk. No doubt this will be the making of a memorable show, but is it the only surprise that WWE has up its sleeve?<\/p>\n WWE is known for making its big shows even bigger, and Saturday Night’s Main Event is a show nearly 20 years in the making. So, who else will be making their return to the company?<\/p>\n Rumors have been swirling of a few big names that could be making an appearance on Saturday. The only way anyone will know what WWE has in store is to turn their channel to NBC.<\/p>\n If the build towards their WWE Championship match has been this good, then there is no doubt that Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will absolutely crush it on Saturday. It doesn\u2019t get more personal than Owens’ crusade against the man who stands with everything he stands against. There is no doubt that their match will drip with animosity, especially after Owens put Randy Orton on the shelf.<\/p>\n Their previous match in Berlin was a fantastic one but this will include much more of a story to tell. Gone are the friends and, in their place, bitter enemies.<\/p>\n It will make everything they do mean that much more and put more emphasis on what Owens could be capable of. Look for this match to main event and be the best of the night.<\/p>\n Yes, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will be the marquee match of the night, but that doesn\u2019t mean that anyone should be sleeping on the two other World Championship matches that WWE has planned.<\/p>\n Gunther vs. Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest is a new matchup that will be a blast to watch. Their contrasting styles will provide for an entertaining affair. The drama between the three men will be a great addition to the show and a fantastic way for the Raw main event picture to finish the year.<\/p>\n Outside of the men\u2019s match, IYO SKY and Liv Morgan are ready to surprise the wrestling world. There isn\u2019t a ton of history between the two but that won\u2019t stand in the way of them putting on one heck of a match. The skill is there, the characters are there, the only thing left is to put pen to paper and show us what they have.<\/p>\n Morgan\u2019s heel character will be perfect to feed off the natural babyface aura of SKY. It will be the workings of a great encounter.<\/p>\n Saturday night we will see WWE make history when it crowns the first-ever United States Women\u2019s Champion. It is a banner moment for WWE and the women\u2019s division.<\/p>\n Never before has there been a secondary championship for the female side of the roster. It shows the depth of the roster and the faith that the office has in the talented women in WWE.<\/p>\n Tiffany Stratton, Michin, Bayley and\/or Chelsea Green will be up to the task of putting on a great show but it is so much more than that. Women\u2019s wrestling has become a focal point of the company, and this is another notch on that belt.
