WWE was bringing back a legendary event that was a staple of the company in the 1980s and 1990s.

They featured multiple main event talents on every show, guaranteeing a fun time for everyone. In an era where jobbers were commonplace on television, Saturday Night’s Main Event brought the best of the best to give the fans an entertaining night of wrestling.

It would be a great decision to make Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes, a feud that has definitely reached its boiling point after Friday’s promo, the centerpiece of this television special. An intense storyline deserves the highest recognition, and having the match inside the Nassau Coliseum is how that could be achieved.

The Decision Can Help Survivor Series: WarGames Breathe

Survivor Series: WarGames is shaping up to be a spectacular night by all accounts. The WarGames matches are guaranteed to be exciting, with months-long feuds ending inside the steel cage. Gunther vs. Damian Priest will be fun as well.

With those three matches already confirmed, WWE can afford to push the match back until December 14. Obviously, the card isn’t full yet, but there has to be something to make Saturday Night’s Main Event a draw.

Too many high-profile matches can negatively impact a card. Since the events are only two weeks apart, some matches have to be transferred over to balance both of them out.

Two extra SmackDowns could add more animosity to the story, which could benefit both Owens and Rhodes. In the case of this feud, that extra time could help it obtain the main event feel it deserves.

Owens and Rhodes Deserve a Large Spotlight

What Kevin Owens has done over the past couple of weeks has been nothing short of horrific. He attacked his friends, brought back a banned move, and rebelled against his suspension.

Cody Rhodes has every right to be angry about Owens’ actions. Feuds this intense don’t come around often, and all eyes are on the wrestlers when they do.

They have to be fought at the largest stage possible, like a WrestleMania or a SummerSlam. This match is highly anticipated, and Saturday Night’s Main Event is the perfect venue for it.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling as they develop.
