Britannia Wrestling,<\/strong> the UK branch of\u00a0Pro Wrestling International,\u00a0<\/strong>were set to have\u00a0WWE UK Champion\u00a0Pete Dunne<\/strong> appear at their\u00a0Royally Rumbled<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>show.\u00a0 The promotion\u00a0celebrating\u00a010 years as an active promotion, had booked the UK and WWE Superstar Dunne for their show on January 27th.<\/p>\n

It was announced today on Twitter and to a dedicated event group that Pete Dunne had been pulled, due to “last minute contractual obligations to the WWE”.\u00a0 In their announcement, they specifically mentioned the\u00a0Royal Rumble<\/strong> event.\u00a0 This is sure to fuel speculation that Pete Dunne could make a surprise\u00a0appearance in the Royal Rumble event.\u00a0 It wouldn’t\u00a0be the first time Dunne has surprised the WWE Universe after making a surprise\u00a0appearance on\u00a0Raw<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>in Manchester to defeat\u00a0Cruiserweight Champion\u00a0<\/strong>Enzo Amore\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “Bruiserweight” shot to prominence after debuting in the WWE United Kingdom Tournament last year.\u00a0 Dunne went in as\u00a0PROGRESS\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0NLW\u00a0<\/strong>world champion and leader of\u00a0British Strong\u00a0Style.\u00a0<\/strong>Dunne impressed fans with his hard-hitting, no remorse style.\u00a0 Despite losing the final to\u00a0Tyler Bate,\u00a0<\/strong>he left the tournament as its biggest star.\u00a0 In an absolute classic, Dunne claimed the UK title at\u00a0NXT Takeover: Chicago.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
