{"id":127819,"date":"2024-10-21T15:52:52","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T19:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=127819"},"modified":"2024-10-21T15:54:00","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T19:54:00","slug":"wwe-nxt-set-for-historic-show-at-ecw-arena-in-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/10\/21\/wwe-nxt-set-for-historic-show-at-ecw-arena-in-philadelphia\/","title":{"rendered":"WWE NXT Set for Historic Show at ECW Arena in Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>WWE<\/strong> has announced a special <em><strong>WWE<\/strong> <\/em><\/span><em><strong>NXT<\/strong><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> episode will air live from the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><em>WWE NXT<\/em> will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the 2300 Arena, and air on the CW Network. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now named after the street that the entrance is on, the 2300 Arena has had multiple names since it opened as the Viking Hall in 1986. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> it became synonymous with <strong>ECW<\/strong> as the hardcore promotion ran shows <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">there<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> between 1993 and 2001.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>AEW<\/strong> owner <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/06\/02\/five-years-how-aew-changed-the-wrestling-industry\/\" target=\"_self\">Tony Khan<\/a> and rapper <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2022\/10\/04\/who-is-aews-action-bronson\/\" target=\"_self\">Action Bronson<\/a> are among those who attended the ECW shows there. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WWE will no doubt pay homage to ECW and its stars during the <em>WWE NXT<\/em>\u00a0episode in Philadelphia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spike Dudley crowdsurfs at the ECW Arena: This Week in WWE History, Sept. 22, 2016\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XwzckQ60-4k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
