The last event was in 2004, and the main event was <strong>Triple H<\/strong> vs. <strong>Shawn Michaels<\/strong> in a Hell in a Cell match.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, there are intense stories behind the five featured matches on the card. All of these matches have stories that have been dragged out for months, some since <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/07\/09\/original-plans-wwe-wrestlemania-40\/\" target=\"_self\"><em><strong>WrestleMania 40<\/strong><\/em><\/a>! It is easy for the fans to get bored of seeing the same stories and matches, but in this case, it\u2019s exciting to see what\u2019s next!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s look at some of the best stories we will see play out this Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s World Championship: Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I honestly think this is one of my favorite women\u2019s storylines that WWE has had in quite a while. A long story might seem slow to the fans sometimes, but depending on how it is executed, it can build up more suspense and emotion in the story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This particular story began on the <em><strong>Raw<\/strong><\/em> after WrestleMania 40 in April 2024, when<strong> Liv Morgan<\/strong> attacked and injured <strong>Rhea Ripley<\/strong> backstage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have been at it since, even when Ripley was out from her shoulder injury; Morgan made sure that everyone knew that she was the one to put Ripley on the shelf. That dislocated shoulder was the beginning of Liv Morgan&#8217;s revenge tour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dating back to 2022, Liv Morgan has had revenge on her mind towards Ripley ever since Ripley turned on her before joining <strong>The Judgement Day.<\/strong> Morgan took her opportunity at the <em>Raw<\/em> after<em> WrestleMania 40,<\/em> which began the nearly five-month constant back-and-forth between the two.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The story was executed perfectly. Morgan continuing the revenge tour while Ripley was injured helped the audience become more invested.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was also unpredictable and had many comedic aspects, starting with Liv Morgan gifting <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/07\/18\/why-people-love-to-hate-dominik-mysterio\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Dominik Mysterio<\/strong><\/a> a PlayStation 5 and chicken nuggets and adding the cherry on top by taking the entire Judgement Day with her, except <strong>Damian Priest<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, at <em>Bad Blood 2024<\/em>, Dominik Mysterio will be locked above the ring in a shark cage. They keep finding ways to change and entertain this story, which works, but how long can it last after <em>Bad Blood 2024<\/em>?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sXw6hzbq4rI?si=KzPoOTjMaqYSDvYQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the outcome and feud between <strong>Cody Rhodes<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/08\/06\/the-evolution-of-roman-reigns-and-the-fans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Roman Reigns<\/strong><\/a> going into <em>WrestleMania 40<\/em>, I don\u2019t think anyone thought they would see them teaming up so soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the fall of Roman Reigns and <strong>The Bloodline<\/strong>, <strong>Solo Sikoa<\/strong> rose with The New Bloodline, who wants to be the \u201ctop dog\u201d like Reigns was. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019ve wreaked havoc across the roster since <strong>Jacob Fatu<\/strong>\u2019s debut on <em><strong>SmackDown (06\/21\/2024)<\/strong><\/em> and have not slowed down. <strong>Paul Heyman<\/strong> has even voiced his concerns about Sikoa going &#8220;too far.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This story is a case of \u201cthe enemy, of my enemy, is my friend,\u201d making Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu the common enemy since their rise after <em>Wrestlemania 40<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seems Reigns and Rhodes are the only ones who can stop them, as The New Bloodline laid out much of the roster. It doesn\u2019t seem like the story is nearing an end, either. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only way to find out who the true tribal chief is is to have a one-on-one match between Reigns and Sikoa, but that might be difficult when Sikoa wants a WWE Championship match.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, whoever stands tall will most definitely set the tone moving forward.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RafLtuSYGIY?si=Ke_91rwlde_V7ZWX\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Hell In a Cell: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This feud is one of the most personal stories WWE has had in a while. The longevity of the rivalry between<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/07\/11\/when-will-we-see-cm-punk-vs-drew-mcintyre\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><strong> CM Punk<\/strong> and <strong>Drew McIntyre<\/strong> <\/a>helped the fans get involved in this story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like the Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan story, the story got a lot of traction from the audience because it kept the story alive while one was injured. This created more anticipation for any sort of match against one another.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After McIntyre injured Punk at the <em><strong>Royal Rumble 2024<\/strong><\/em>, from January to August (CM Punk\u2019s return), McIntyre has been jabbing at Punk through social media and various interviews. He never let the story die. No one can get in, and no one can get out; anything goes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McIntyre won one match over Punk at <em><strong>SummerSlam 2024<\/strong><\/em>, with <strong>Seth Rollins<\/strong> as the special guest referee. However, not even a month later, at the <em><strong>WWE Bash in Berlin 2024<\/strong><\/em>, Punk defeated McIntryre in a strap match.
