{"id":126836,"date":"2024-09-06T06:00:13","date_gmt":"2024-09-06T10:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=126836"},"modified":"2024-09-06T00:35:32","modified_gmt":"2024-09-06T04:35:32","slug":"preview-aew-collision-9-6-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2024\/09\/06\/preview-aew-collision-9-6-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: AEW Collision (9\/6\/24) &#8211; Jack Perry Returns to Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live on an unusual Friday night this week, <em><strong>AEW Collision<\/strong> <\/em>brings us a huge card ahead of a hotly anticipated All Out in Chicago.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This show will likely build in some angles for final touches to a host of stories heading for climax this weekend but a match still to be decided is <strong>Kazuchika Okada\u2019s<\/strong> challengers for this Saturday as a 4-Way match for the Rainmaker\u2019s Continental Title was announced for <em><strong>All Out<\/strong><\/em> on this week\u2019s <em><strong>AEW Dynamite<\/strong><\/em>. This will be decided in 3 matches on Collision in a Continental Contenders Challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This makes up half of the announced lineup with 6 total matches scheduled for the evening\u2019s proceedings, including final showdowns between <strong>The Elite<\/strong> and <strong>BCC<\/strong>, <strong>Hikaru Shida<\/strong> in action before her championship bout on Saturday and much more. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s the card so far:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>AEW Collision Card Announced Thus Far:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoil &amp; PAC) vs The Elite (Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada, Nicholas Jackson &amp; Matthew Jackson)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continental Contenders Challenge: Orange Cassidy vs Bryan Keith<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continental Contenders Challenge: Lance Archer vs Mark Briscoe<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continental Contenders Challenge: Konosuke Takeshita vs The Beast Mortos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deonna Purazzo vs Hikaru Shida<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MxM Collection (Mansoor &amp; Mason Madden) vs House of Black (Brody King &amp; Buddy Matthews)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Jack Perry to Make Heated Chicago Return for Final Faceoff With Bryan Danielson<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The self-titled Scapegoat makes his return to Chicago for the first in-ring time since his return to AEW from excursion in New Japan. Expect to see some Learning Tree shenanigans in this one that could cost OC the match\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lance Archer will return to AEW in-ring action after we saw him backstage last week on Collision destroying humans like a high school bully. He even went about beating up some poor production hand with a shovel and choke slamming someone else on a case. He will face the ever-energetic Mark Briscoe which should make for a very\u2026interesting matchup but one that will be lots of fun no doubt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But personally, my most anticipated match of this Challenge will be the returning Konosuke Takeshita, wrestling just his second match since making the quarter-finals of the gruelling G1 Climax over in Japan, facing the fastest rising star in AEW at the moment in The Beast Mortos. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This could really go either way and you can guarantee both men will go out there and batter the living daylights out of each other. I would love if somehow both could go through here!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Purrazzo Looks for Redemption but Will Face Tough Challenge in Motivated Shida<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deonna Purrazzo has had a very up-and-down year, to say the least. After a 2 month undefeated streak at the start of the year and challenging for the Women\u2019s World Title she has struggled to keep up the same momentum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She failed to beat Toni Storm in her Women&#8217;s Title shot and hasn&#8217;t been able to quite reach those heights again, and her feud with Thunder Rosa has brought out these complicated feelings, bad traits like selfishness and arrogance but also hints of self-doubt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But after some impressive wins against Rosa, in the big payoff Texas Bullrope match, she failed to win and it has plunged her into a new low. However, on Dynamite this week there was a video package where Purrazzo commented on her frustration and now wants redemption, but she faces a very challenging proposition in the new Ace of AEW, Hikaru Shida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shida may have her head elsewhere however as the day after she will face Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship after winning a 4-way match in the main event last week on Collision. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This could be the match to keep an eye on as Kamille and Mone will no doubt be keeping a close watch on the action after Shida managed to get Kamille banned from ringside for her match with the CEO on Saturday at All Out and could hand the win to the Virtuosa in desperate need of some restored momentum.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>More From LWOS Pro Wrestling<\/h3>\n<p><em>Header photo \u2013 AEW \u2013 Stay tun<\/em><em>ed to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\" target=\"_self\">Last Word on Pro Wrestling<\/a>\u00a0for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
