While most Superstars keep the original design of the briefcase, seven winners so far have personalized theirs to flaunt their prize even more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With <\/span><b><i>WWE Money in the Bank<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Toronto, Ontario, Canada approaching soon, let&#8217;s go over the history of customized briefcases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-v0RKGC5vKs?si=EKFvbgJzGgDHEbN7\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Rob Vam Dam &#8211; 2006<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Rob Van Dam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> became the second-ever Money in the Bank winner at <\/span><b><i>WrestleMania 23<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against seven other competitors. The first-ever holder <\/span><b>Edge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> carried a plain black briefcase that does have the same branding as the modern version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the next year, RVD elevated his with an airbrushed design on both sides. The front featured the ying and yang symbol with his initials in big letters across. The other side said, \u201cMR. MONEY IN THE BANK\u201d with dollar signs in the background.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rob Van Dam successfully cashed in on <\/span><b>John Cena <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and started a briefcase trend that continued for the next two consecutive years.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Mr. Kennedy &#8211; 2007<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WrestleMania<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, viewers watched <\/span><b>Mr. Kennedy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> retrieve the briefcase from the top of the ladder. Kennedy\u2019s personalized prize was airbrushed with his logo and trademark microphone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His design was simpler than RVD\u2019s but still more attractive than the boring black case given to the winner that year. However, he only held the briefcase for just over a month before\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Edge &#8211; 2007<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3eZhXBdBOEM?si=JWfttnAZEyaqvxFC\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edge defeated Mr. Kennedy on the May 7, 2007 edition of <\/span><b><i>Raw <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to become the first two-time Money in the Bank winner. Unlike his first time, Edge customized the briefcase he won from Kennedy. This design featured his logo as the Rated-R Superstar. A simple but sleek look for the Money in the Bank briefcase holder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edge later cashed in on <\/span><b>The Undertaker <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to win the World Heavyweight Championship on an episode of <\/span><b><i>SmackDown<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>CM Punk &#8211; 2008<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9LuGxqLhJVU?si=CaLDBoCfgSrwxDZq\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At <\/span><b><i>WrestleMania 24<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, CM Punk climbed to the top of the ladder to win the Money in the Bank match. For the third year in a row and fourth time overall, the briefcase was personalized. Punk\u2019s design included his name and the Chicago flag, which became synonymous with his character over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After <\/span><b>Jeff Hardy <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">won the World Heavyweight Championship in a brutal ladder match against Edge, Punk ruined his moment by cashing in to become the new champion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customized briefcases became a thing of the past when WWE finally branded them with the WrestleMania and Money in the Bank logos. Five years later, it finally returned with\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Damien Sandow &#8211; 2013<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mpIe0CrsIBw?si=4aICnSgGGnIJrkn7\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Damien Sandow initially carried the blue version of the briefcase but was forced to upgrade due to the actions of <\/span><b>Cody Rhodes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. On the July 26, 2013 edition of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SmackDown<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Rhodes threw Sandow\u2019s briefcase into the Gulf of Mexico out of frustration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Intellectual Savior did not let that stop him, however, and he clapped back by revealing a new and improved design. This new briefcase was classy with brown leather and the Money in the Bank logo on the front.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately for him, a fancy personalized briefcase did not help Sandow pin John Cena after cashing in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Brock Lesnar &#8211; 2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9mSzIiPLLus?si=tHH08wi_z3oFUwBA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next customization came in 2019 when <\/span><b>Brock Lesnar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">transformed his briefcase into a boombox. The Beast Incarnate entered the ring with music blasting from it to mock champions <\/span><b>Seth Rollins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Kofi Kingston<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was an unusual instance of Lesnar showing personality at the time and a highlight of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raw <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that night, that had everyone talking. Lesnar cashed in his contract later that year on Kingston, making quick work of him to win the WWE Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Damian Priest &#8211; 2023<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7y-ky9zqCNQ?si=qNt4jUQ_c9ZiC7hM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, the most recent personalized briefcase occurred just under a year ago with holder <\/span><b>Damian Priest<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Desiring to join the <\/span><b>Judgment Day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>JD McDonagh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gifted Priest an upgraded case as a friendly offering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new case was purple with the title of \u201cSe\u00f1or Money in the Bank\u201d instead of \u201cMr. Money in the Bank.\u201d With both tag team titles around his shoulders and an enhanced briefcase, Priest showed up to television each week in style.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At <\/span><b>WrestleMania XL<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Priest cashed in his purple briefcase and pinned <\/span><b>Drew McIntyre <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to become the new World Heavyweight Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who\u2019s Next?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With two new Money in the Bank winners crowned soon, will we see more customized briefcases? A woman is yet to personalize the briefcase, so maybe this year could be the first.
