But for now, enjoy WrestleMania&#8217;s biggest brother-vs.-brother<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0battles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WWE WrestleMania&#8217;s Biggest Brother vs. Brother Battles<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Heartbroken: Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Incredibly, it took ten years of <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0before a sibling feud made the match card.\u00a0<\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania X<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0told one of the finest stories of sibling rivalry as\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bret Hart<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Owen Hart<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0bookended the show with an intense and emotional story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Owen Hart entered <\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Survivor Series<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0four months before\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania X\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">with his brothers Bret, Bruce, and Keith by his side.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Above Owen was a shadow he felt Bret had been casting for years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Hart Family<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0successfully defeated\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Shawn Michaels and His Knights.<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> It should have been a great moment. But Owen was the only Hart eliminated, and he was furious. Owen felt an accidental bump with Bret was the reason he was eliminated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Owen challenged Bret to a match, but his brother refused to fight his flesh and blood. Christmas was ruined in the Hart household. The brothers managed to get back on the same page when they were handed a Tag Team Championship match against the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Quebecers<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0at\u00a0<\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Royal Rumble 94<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bret injured his leg in the bout, and the referee had to stop the match. Owen was enraged. He unleashed one of the WWE&#8217;s most iconic promos when he said he kicked Bret&#8217;s leg out of his leg.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To make things worse, Bret won the Rumble match to earn a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Yokozuna<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in the main event of\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania X<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Owen vowed Bret wouldn\u2019t make the match, and the Hart brothers were booked to open <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania X.<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>&#8216;That&#8217;s Why I kicked Your Leg Outta Your Leg!<\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Had a little Owen Hart &quot;kick your leg out of your leg&quot; vibes from this announcement.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AEWDynamite?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#AEWDynamite<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ADWSCXgsve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/ADWSCXgsve<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gGsWpGXWUb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/gGsWpGXWUb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; KayfabeKouncil (@KayfabeKouncil) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KayfabeKouncil\/status\/1633698797720305664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 9, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As brother vs brother matches at <em>WrestleMania<\/em>,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0go, this is the one to beat on in-ring quality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A red-hot crowd at Madison Square Garden was seriously into the contest and fully behind Bret. It was fast-paced, technical, and exciting throughout. Bret suffered a knee injury, but this time, it would be to Owen\u2019s advantage. He targeted the leg and controlled proceedings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bret went for a victory roll, but Owen reversed it to win and prove he was the greater wrestler. Owen finally claimed to be free of Bret\u2019s shadow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bret limped into the main event, where he beat Yokozuna for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Owen appeared on the ramp, crestfallen that his brother had once again cast a shadow over him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The two feuded for the Championship for the rest of 1994.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Supernatural Brothers: The Undertaker vs. Kane\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Undertaker\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">vs.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kane<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0is the greatest sibling rivalry of all time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 1998,\u00a0<\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">WrestleMania 14<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> was when the two brothers first met inside a WWE ring. The match topped off months of build sparked by The Undertaker\u2019s presumed dead brother Kane revealing he\u2019d been alive all this time. He hadn&#8217;t died in a fire started by The Undertaker when the two were children. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It was pure soap opera, at times car crash TV, but always gripping.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The masked Kane seemed under the control of the Undertaker&#8217;s former father figure, <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Paul Bearer.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Together, they provoked &#8220;The Phenom&#8221; for months after he refused to ever \u2018lay hands on his flesh and blood\u2019. That sounds familiar!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Undertaker was steadfast for months. But it turned out all his brother had to do to force his hand was nail The Undertaker in a coffin and set it ablaze.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><em>WrestleMania 14<\/em> taking place in Philadelphia meant WWE couldn&#8217;t resist having Kane hit a pre-match tombstone piledriver on former Phillies baseball star Pete Rose. Rose was previously part of the Cincinnati Reds &#8211; a team known as The Big Red Machine. Kane adopted the Big Red Machine moniker himself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It was an entertaining and engaging match but simply the fuse of the rivalry. Undertaker won the bout,..two. But the feud continued on and off for years. The two battled in an Inferno Match at <\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Unforgiven<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0a few months later.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This match got 1.5 stars in the Observer: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing that flattens the pop more than the loser kicking out just after the third count\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bruce: \u201cIt\u2019s an idiotic criticism. Undertaker was now a biker. Kane buried Undertaker alive at <\/span><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Survivor Series<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0to rid himself of his brother.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the weeks leading up to\u00a0WrestleMania XX,\u00a0spooky events seemed to signal that <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Undertaker was still alive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kane refused to believe his brother would return from the dead. He made his way to the center of the ring at WrestleMania XX, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">visibly shaken. The Undertaker did return with Paul Bearer by his side and dressed as his &#8220;Phenom&#8221; Deadman character.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Undertaker again defeated Kane in keeping with a narrative WWE had dedicated decades to telling. Undertaker was and always would be the ultimate supernatural entity in the WWE.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Hard Betrayal Leads To Hardy Boys At WrestleMania 25<\/h3>\n<p>The moment <strong>Matt Hardy<\/strong> turned on his younger brother, Jeff, was unrivalled compared to\u00a0everything mentioned above. Matt unleashed an unprotected chair shot across his brother&#8217;s head at Royal Rumble 2008, which\u00a0cost Jeff Hardy his WWE Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Matt revealed he was behind a series of unfortunate events that Jeff had suffered. Ranging from a car accident and an attack in a stairwell to a mistimed pyro and a house fire. The latter, Matt bragged, resulted in the death of Jeff&#8217;s dog.<\/p>\n<p>Matt claimed he was sick of protecting his troubled brother for his whole life. He was also unable to swallow the fact that his career had been mediocre compared to Jeff.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff accused Matt of being sick and twisted for his actions. But claimed so was he. The brothers met in an extreme rules match at <em><strong>WrestleMania 25<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s been 15 years since the last Brother vs. Brother match at WrestleMania!<\/p>\n<p>The heartbreaking Hardy sibling rivalry came to a head in a hardcore Extreme Rules match at WrestleMania 25. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qBsP8c83LN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/qBsP8c83LN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Wrestling Heartbreak \ud83d\udc94 (@WWFHeartbreak) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WWFHeartbreak\/status\/1769669129387024694?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 18, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Even a Vacuum Cleaner<\/h3>\n<p>An early highlight of the match was Jeff smashing a framed <em>WrestleMania<\/em> poster across Matt&#8217;s head. Matt had sulked about never being featured on a <em>WrestleMania<\/em> poster during his career.<\/p>\n<p>Ladders, chairs, trash cans, and even a vacuum cleaner were used to inflict damage between the brothers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jim Ross<\/strong> said in commentary that Matt and Jeff beat each other so badly that you\u2019d presume they were total strangers, not brothers. Jeff put Matt on a table, stacked a chair and another table on top of him, and then hit a splash on top of the lot. <strong>JR\u2019s<\/strong> point is proven.<\/p>\n<p>The match was a fitting reflection of the extreme brand of sports entertainment that the brothers became synonymous with. Jeff missed a leg drop from a ladder. Matt wrapped a chair around the neck of his brother and drove him into the canvas with a twist of fate.<\/p>\n<p>Matt won the match, but Jeff still came out on top. Just two months later, he was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
