During Gunther<\/strong>‘s entrance ahead of his epic inter-European brawl with the “Celtic Warrior”, Sheamus <\/strong>at WWE Clash at the Castle<\/em><\/strong>, Ludwig Kaiser<\/strong> announced Gunther not only as the “Ring General”, but as the leader of Imperium<\/strong>. Giovanni Vinci<\/strong>, the former Fabian Aichner<\/strong>, joined Gunther and Kaiser during his entrance and entered into a brawl with Sheamus’ “The Brawling Brutes” (Sheamus, Butch<\/strong> and Ridge Holland<\/strong>). What eventually followed was one heck of a brawl between the Celtic Warrior and the Ring General, with Gunther eventually defeating his fellow European.<\/p>\n

If you are a long-term viewer of NXT<\/strong> and NXT UK<\/strong>, in particular, you may recall that Imperium is a long-established stable fronted by Gunther – who previously led the group under his former name, WALTER<\/strong>. Gunther was head of the group during his lengthy, 870 NXT UK Championship reign. Vinci and Kaiser also had success in the main version of NXT – winning the NXT Tag Team Championship twice, most recently at NXT: Halloween Havoc<\/em><\/strong> just last year. Together, Imperium was a near-unstoppable faction feared by all. With their recent reformation, coupled with Triple H’s heading WWE creative these days, you can certainly expect big things from this group. With Gunther currently dominating as WWE Intercontinental Champion, don’t be surprised if Vinci and Kaiser capture tag team gold one day soon.<\/p>\n
