has been a point of contention for many fans. Over the years Raw and Smackdown had made a clear shift and as usual, viewers flocked to the internet to voice their opinions on the product and the direction it was taking.

One shining light during all of that was NXT. Not the new NXT, but the old Black and Gold NXT. As most people reading this will know, much of the success NXT saw can be attributed to Triple H as he was in charge of booking that show week in and week out. Triple H was removed from the position after struggling to win the “Wednesday Night Wars” against AEW Dynamite and the product has not been the same since. Black and Gold NXT was widely looked at as the best program that WWE had among those fans that felt left behind in the “PG Era”. Losing ratings to a brand new company that has the wrestling world buzzing should not have been looked at as a failure. It should almost have been expected. In no way does that make NXT a bad product, it just meant that people wanted to see what the new company was going to do because there was some legitimate competition for the throne for the first time in years.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="WWE Network: Triple H opens NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn" width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yMG9r32zBW4?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer;
